Happy Retirement

The day you thought would never come
Has finally arrived
And while it’s really hard to believe
You’ve made it out alive

You’ve worked beside us for so long
Surviving all these years
And now that you are leaving
There’s going to be many tears

We’re really going to miss you
Going to be odd without you around
The world of carefree retirement
Is where you now are bound

You’ll be able to do whatever you please
As you while away the hours
Go walking in the countryside
Smell the beautiful flowers

No need to get dressed every day
You’ll be able to lounge in your Jamas
You can put up your feet, sit and relax
As you watch all the TV dramas

As you leave we’ll wave goodbye
Wishing you well as you go on your way
We want you to know how special you are
On this your retirement day!

That’s very good Queenie! :023:

That’s very good, although my former colleagues would have expected insults and banter from me.

We have quite a large back garden on two levels of which we have a fence on either side, however on one side the fence is slatted with wide areas between and our little pup Loki can get through so I went out to buy some wire mesh to block off the areas he could get through. My husband is unable to do things like DIY because of him only having one arm so I went out to try my hand at making the area safe for our Loki. My neighbour saw me struggling and came out to see what I was doing and he took over and then another neighbour came out and joined in in helping him! They did the whole fence of which we were sooooo grateful.

We were so pleased with their kindness but wouldn’t take any money or anything so I made a card for them both and I bought them some apple pie and millionaires slices.

I wrote the poem and did a card for each of them which goes as follows:

Thank you Steve/Andy for helping us
We’re grateful for your good deed
We now feel safe to let our pup
Roam round without a lead
It’s nice to know we have good neighbours
Who are so helpful and kind
Me and John really are so lucky
To have best neighbours one could find

With Very Grateful Thanks
Your Neighbours
John & Bev

I don’t like the area we live in but it helps to have good neighbours.

Forever missing my beloved Sister Julia xxxx

My Sister may be gone from sight
But in my mind I see her
My Sister may be silent now
But in my mind I hear her
My Sister may no more touch skin
But in my heart I feel her
My Sister may now be a soul
But she’ll always be beside me

I see her smiling at me
I hear her happy laughter
As she reaches out with open arms
She tells me, “Beverley, I love you”

I wrote this 2 years after mum and my precious sister died. Came up on memories on fb

With Love From Daddys Girl

I’ve written a letter to Daddy
I told him I hold him so dear
I wanted to let him know
For my hero I am always here

I know he is missing my Mum
Don’t want Daddy to feel so alone
But I’ll always be visiting him
And I’m just at the end of the phone

Since Mum and Julia passed
In our dreams our loved ones say
We’re here beside you watching
Each and every single day

I love my Daddy dearly
Always will and always did
I’m proud to call him Dad
And I’m proud that I’m his kid

Here is a poem I wrote for mothers day .

Remembering Mother

As Mothers Day approaches
I’m feeling awful sadness
But then when I look back
That feeling turns to gladness

The gladness that I feel
Is because you were my Mother
If I could have chosen one
Wouldn’t wanted any other

You see my dearest Mother
You had kindness in your eyes
Your heart was full of love
And you were always oh so wise

You taught me kindness matters
How to spread much love and care
You gave out cuddles daily
And you were always there

Whilst I cannot give you cuddles now
I hope from Heaven that you see
I’m doing all I can
To be the best person I can be

Thank you my beautiful Mother
For teaching me right from wrong
As I lay flowers at your grave
I’ll sing you a beautiful song

I Love & Miss You Mummy

The world came together
we mourned and cried
as we heard the sad news
Our Queen had died

Our queen wore a smile
for the world to see
Only two days earlier
So how could this be

So many felt sadness
As we heard she had passed
Flowers shrouded the palace
Flag flew at half mast

Our jewel in the crown
Left the land she had known
But worry not
She’s not alone

She’s united again
With the love of her life
Joined once again
As man & wife

Philip was waiting
with outstretched hand
‘Come my Elizabeth’
to this beautiful land

A peaceful place
Awaited our Queen
The most heavenly sight
She has ever seen

Goodbye dear Elizabeth
You were the best
You served us as queen
Now it’s time to rest

RIP Your Majesty
