Less than Five Sheep Per Person

The ovine population of Kiwiland has declined to the point that there are only five sheep per head of population compared to 22 sheep per person at its peak in the 1980s. This is the lowest ratio in 170 years.

The gumboot industry has been decimated.

Nobody can blame them for heading off to where the money is. Synthetics has really bitten into the wool industry and the veggie brigade is trying to steer people away from meat.

Wonder how things are in Wales?
