Leisurely Scribbles (part 5) (Part 1)

:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:

“Less is more”

Phooey!

Less is lesser

But, every little helps.

John Edward Smallshaw Jul 2018
just scribbling.
The trinket gurgled
heading to the stream
that babbled
I dabbled a toe or two
in as young boys do

summer flew,
outspread wings and
the north brings winter

I always knew it would end
this way with
ice on the window panes
indoor parlour games
and Gran on the accordion.

Trinket may be an Irish word for a very small stream, I heard it first over thirty years ago in County Cavan, Southern Ireland and even then it struck me as a beautiful word to use. an afterthought, I could google Wikipedia to find out, but I remember, ‘if you look too closely at the magic it disappears’

Oh dear Scribbles is far too quiet.

Has been, its great nowadays, to have once been a been, then progress to a Runner Bean;-)

One day, if you’re lucky, you may become Ignored.

Oh I do get ignored. X

I haven’t been around lately, I let the work pile up, kept putting jobs on the long finger until finally the pressure was on to clear it all out. the best way to do this is stay away from the TV, the pub, and the computer and concentrate on getting the work done, a Trappist Monk has a better social life than I’ve had the past week.
Just as I had everything squared up we got a phone call from Wexford informing us that the wife’s sister is gravely ill, she’s a widow (88) and lives with her handicapped adult son, Phyllis is very close to her remaining sisters so naturally she wants to be with her just in case the worst comes to the worst, which is expected anyway, so the arrangement is we stay down in Wexford for a while.
We’ll be heading down there by train tomorrow and if our stay is longer than two weeks I’ll have to return to Dublin on me own to finish some more work and take the dog home from my daughter’s house, she’s looking after him for us, n’er a dull moment eh!, you never know what’s around the next corner do you, as they say, how do you make God laugh?… you make plans.

So I’ll see you all when I get the chance, take good care of yourselves.

Take care Jem.GBY

Oh Jem I am sorry.
Take care.

Has Scribbles sunk?

No, its just playing the waiting game.

Like the Titanic?
We need music if it is sinking.

I say! One DOES apologise for one’s somewhat frugal posting of late. T’is mostly through happenstance;incidents occurring within days of one-another.

I understand Pugsy.
I have missed you. x
