Leisurely Scribbles (part 5) (Part 1)

So do I, I think it was that Curry.

I will blame you then.

That’s Ok, I’m blowing Hot and Cold today.

It is blowing a hooley here.
Whatever a hooley is.

It’s “Wet and Windy” here.

I’ll have to get out the house in a while.

Do you think it will be swept away?

Not sure, under the carpet is nearly full.

You mad fool.
I’m glad the Airshow is not this week.

Gumbud, I just read on another thread how your brother died of leukaemia, coincidence that, so did my elder brother, he was 59 then, and he died in a foreign land too, England.
He was my best mate all through life, I still miss him badly and all the laughs we used to have together.
Here’s a very old and faded picture, I’m on the left in me confirmation suit which I hated because it had short trousers, he’s chuffed because he’s in longers, I was ten and he was twelve in this old snap of 62 years ago.

here’s mine Jem - brother on the right - if you think I am crazy here - he was twice as! - yes it’s funny heh - I think I spoke to him every three months when he lived in Spain but now - miss him every bloody day - they leave a hole that can never be filled. I wish he would contact me but it seems it not allowed??

Thank you for the wonderful explanation of the word construe Pug me lad. I shall endeavour to utilise the word as often as I can in future.

There’s nobody more at home in a bar than myself Gummy, I always thought this was one big bar with everyone throwing in their oar when they feel like it. We have saloon doors with no locks or bolts and everyone can come and go as they please.

The rules in Scribbles are not very shrewd
Don’t offend and don’t be rude
Let your posts flow like fluid
All are welcome Dame and Dude
The half baked and the barely chewed
Say what you feel and you won’t get booed
So get cracking while your in the mood
And no typing while in the nude, or severely brewed.

Tink yo.

Great photo that Gummy, my brother was a lot wilder that I ever was too, his widow and his two sons often come over to visit us, we always have a good time when they do.

Oh, how lovely to see your pics.
My brother died aged 38yrs old of Cancer. The reason we moved from Kent to Dorset, was so I could spend as much time as I could with him in his remaining years.
I will dig out some pics for you.

yes please do SP - we need more love here now!

I will, it will make me sad. But I will scan some in.

Funny about siblings?

My sister one year younger; now in Canada and my brother 2 years younger – lived in Spain and now deceased never figured much in my life as a teenager – I did my thing and they theirs and the only common denominators was Ma and Pa – they of course loved us all unconditionally and supported us all the way. Our final sojourn as a family was in Cheshire. We siblings who once danced rock and roll in the scout hall together went our separate ways.

Me to the south – Hampshire ; my sister after marriage to Canada and my brother remained for many years and supervised DAs funeral in Cheshire and finally Mas before moving to Spain. All those years in between we heard snippets about each other but didn’t care too much – we had our own lives to get on with. Once I had settled in Hampshire got married and had two kids my bros and his wife came down and lived with us for a while probably just for a break from Cheshire and then got a place of his own – stayed for a year and then headed back! We had socialized a lot over that period but they couldn’t settle in Hants and I think were a bit homesick?

TBC

As I have no siblings, I kind of regard you lot as my big brothers.

Is this a New Era for Scribbles, truth and reconciliation?

Is this a New Era for Scribbles, truth and reconciliation?

Oh Lordy yes brother, praise the Lord, Is’a going down to the river to cleanse ma soul.
I wanna testify! I wanna testify!
It was hard to feed a big family in the old days. When I was mere four year old boy, my daddy took me out two miles in a boat in Dublin Bay, I swam all the way back to shore, I liked swimming, it’s wasn’t too bad once I got out of the sack.
Sorry I just had to throw that old corker in before we all end up in floods of tears, sure we all had rough times but you just have to laugh at them when you look back. Some small things stick in your mind too.
I remember standing in a Q at the butchers with a shilling in me hand and a note for him, it said “A shillings worth of pieces and a bone” The snow was thick on the ground and I was perished standing there in me short trousers and wafer thin monkey jacket, you remember them brown corduroy things with the long zip up the front, I was being ignored, nothing but female arses of every description all around me, one well shod and muffled up old cow said “Don’t mind the kid there, sure kids don’t feel the cold” I cursed her through chattering teeth. When I eventually got home I had to go to school and then get whacked by the schoolmaster for being late, but that was life and I enjoyed the steaming hot stew when I got home again.

Aww, Jem that was sad, but touching. x

Me feels a song.
