yes done that all over asia - some of the best food can be found in the back streets. we dropped into KL once and caught up with the laddie whose was working in Thailand. We didn’t want to go to a swanky restaurant so my son said let’s just walk along this high street and look for bright shining lights down the lanes - and we did and we walked down a lane and there was a magic scene - restaurants - local - street tables and seats - dogs hanging around -magic and great food without goin to the swanky places!
SEE? dubmug [as his mirror calls him] admits he really enjoys dogburger & chips,with guineapig dip and a nice doves entrails salad!
personally,I really was impressed when I had Korean meatballs.
They really were the dog’s bollo…VERY nice!
We went out to a posh place tonight.
The service was terrible.
The food was OK, but an hour’s wait!
I complained of course, but got no apology.
So I am never going there again!
Only an hour, that’s quicker than the response in the Candy Bar, lets see what happens with the new management.

We met a couple of widows on holiday here, last night.
They were getting ripped off by the taxi firms here. One of them had been bitten by something, her foot was very swollen. I told her to see a doctor. Why do people ignore serious health problems on holiday?
