Leisurely Scribbles (part 5) (Part 1)

Surely correspondence must have happened, beyond the visible Forum for such accessibility to occur?

I’m fed up, went to RAF Cosford Airshow last week, which was patronised by party in the parkers, who, in reality, had no interest in aircraft, they just set up picnics In all the access roads, compromising health and safety for all.

Today, I went to Weston Park “International Model Airshow”, an event historically attended by Model Flying devotees, as usual, I selected a pitch, well off the centre of the flightline to assure, unencumbered access and viewing, next thing, four quarter sized chairs were placed by the safety barrier on which four sub five year old kids were sat, by, two well spoken ladies, and hour of family interaction took place, before I saw fit to move. Once established elsewhere, I was surprised to see, two young guys with babes in arms, no mother in sight, bonding on the grass, times have changed, or I have.

Times have indeed changed Spitty, when my two were toddlers I did carry them around a bit, mostly on my shoulders, but herself was never far away, as soon as the back of me neck felt even slightly moist they were promptly handed back to the mother to ‘do her thing’ with them, my thing was to do a Julius Caesar and wash me hands of the affair, it ain’t my function, as the man said, well not back then it wasn’t.

Do you remember that film “The Flight of the Phoenix” they were all stranded in the desert, Hardy Kruger told them he could redesign the crashed craft and it would take them all home, then the look on Richard Attenborough and James Stewart faces when he told them he was a model airplane designer? Priceless!

Not big on films, was dances with wolves about “Balsa Classes”.

That man will get such a sweat rash.

what a lovely dad - pity we all now know who he is??

I have mellowed today, and, credit where credit is due, the four little toddlers, successfully named all the scale aircraft that flew.

A credit to their parents, and, under the circumstances, remarkably well behaved.

life is full of surprises spits when you rest the jackhammer and smell the roses!! good man!

Off somewhere else this Sunday, let’s hope the modified outlook persists.

well we could modify you further if you just step this way sir ??

Never take shortcuts Gummy, you might not get time for a “Backup” (no innuendo intended).

I’ll back you if you’ll back me - hammer man!!

In the frozen-foods department of our local grocery store, I saw a man shopping with his son. As I walked by, he checked something off his list, then whispered conspiratorially to his son, “You know, if we really mess this up, we’ll never have to do it again.”

I like it I like it!
