Obtaining horse-hair to make a mane and tail isn’t the problem. I want to use the original mane and find something to match it as closely as possible for the tail.
Imagine a small rug sampler, fluffy on one side and rows of stitching on the canvas backing. A bit like a fluffy bath or toilet mat. That’s what the mane looks like. I think something similar but stitched into a tube shape would do for the tail, or the fake fur collar from a jacket, or possibly even a bit like a the fur rim of a parka of scooter riders fame.
Perhaps you should refrain from eating broccoli or baked beans before your performance in future.

Up at 4am,car de-snowed & defrosted by 4.30,hit snow-covered road to work…doing 3 miles a fortnight in 6" of frozen snow…phone rings. Pull over-‘hello?’-to be told escort vehicle has a flat tyre,tyre company can’t get there 'till 6am,so meet in yard [to drive low-loader] at 06.45. So
up 3 bloody hours early,in sub-zero temperatures ‘n’ 6" of frozen snow,for sfa.
