Leisurely Scribbles (Part 2)

I think spittie is all electric, he will probably make more of a whirring sound. :zap:

with a face like that you are electrifiying!!

I did miss it before Harbal, I’ve been away a lot since we switched over to this new system.
Great piece of work me lad. l enjoyed it very much.

Sure I always knew yeh had talent from day one, keep up the good work, you are a ray of sunshine in a sometimes boring forum, love the way you don’t take any bullshit from the hate mongers.

An fheiceann tú an focal, amadain? in English means “Can you see the word, fool?”
Well our schoolmaster used to love saying that to us when we were reading our Irish language book. He would have a hangover on Monday mornings and be in bad humour, well who wouldn’t be with 50 unruly brats in a class.
It sounds like ‘un feckin’ to an f…kal’, and he said it like he meant it as it sounded, yes this angry middle aged man loved his ‘feckoning and focaling, very fond of using the cane too.

Now this is not meant to offend anyone, but it’s a fact, this was a huge hit in it’s day, even some priests were singing it at that time., no kiddin’.

I do my very best not to be serious about anything on the forum, but don’t you just hate all the false information (lies) people are trying to spread on the internet these days. It really gets to me, but I won’t bring any of that onto your wonderful thread. :slightly_smiling_face:

I have always been very philosophically minded, and I was thinking today about how time is relative. Did you know, for instance, although it is Sunday here in the UK, it is actually Sonntag in Germany. It makes you think, doesn’t it?

Not no more it don’t.

we can handle anything you bring on Garbal - we have a reputation; heard of the peaky blinders and we all ride sur ons?? what is the best time of the day I hear you ask? well for me 6am western time and a cool 22C - as I step out with the hound who drags me off into the forest! he loves a good sniff and a whiff and a piss!! the air is fresh not a hint of heat at all and at 22C - there is still damp dew on the foilage as i brush past in me underpants and toothbrush between the two remaining teeth and we are on the hunt for tasmanian tigers [they may have imported a few?] the hound loves his chicken necks I can hear the crunch of minor bones as he chews them down. he’d eat ya finger if it was lyin on the ground thats for sure to be sure to be sure to be sure - to be or not to be that what we always ask down under - but no one has fallen off yet - that is a great thing that magnetism heh or the apple always falls down not up as I call it?

that’s why spittie never falls off his put put - nothin to do with good ridin?

we get some news of britain occasionally but hardly any about
wales or ireland or scotland - are they all sombulent?? - it would be nice to see a separate page entitled “Weekly Scottish news highlights” etc etc etc fgs its supposed to be a United Kingdom ?

Our First Minister has Covid, if that’s any help? She has been gallivanting to the US recently so might have caught it there (or on the plane…or…). In other news, rainfall is up for this time of the year. Word is the boat builders have all been called back in to start constructing a large fleet of kayaks in case we all need rescuing. :joy:

On the hills there are still little patches here and there. We tend to be a good couple of weeks behind England in terms of the good weather. Our summers are short and sweet

Plenty of posts and news from Scotland Gummy.
I think the Scottish members are doing well for themselves and good luck to them, they have managed to keep a long running thread called “Club Scotland” going, of which I always have a gawk at when I sign in, all the ladies there have a good time chatting together and why not, I say ladies because any men who dropped in don’t seem to stay long there.

But when I see a post by May it sets me heart all a-flutter and I have to exit the thread before I faint, my oh my, oh what a gal!, How ya doing’ May.

Australians, Americans, Irish, Germans, South Africans, New Zealander’s ,and other nations are way down in the minority stakes here, I would have loved to form an Irish Club but we only have two Irish born members here now, Silver Tabby and meself, can’t see any more joining either. Sad.

Philly and me are off now to the local, tonight is a quiz night, I’m brutal at quizzes.

My dear Mother used to sing this song to us when we were nippers, I wanted to hear it again today, I came upon this nice little version in my search.

I was surprised to hear how fresh and clear this old lady’s voice was when she began to sing, beautiful, sounds like a 21 year old, fair play to ya ma’am. Read some of the comments below the video.

gummy is doing a good job on the question front, are we experiencing the push-pull Cycle. :bike: :grinning:

Jembo hung on for two hours I posted, then he disappeared, Da Ya think I got BO? :grinning:

I think he still misses the old lads from here and maybe a touch of “guiness dementia”

there was an old lad called dementia
who took to the salt baths in florencia
he would wallow for hours
clutching bunches of flowers
and stumbled out looking like cementia??

Yes gummy, back in the old days, I know I was integral, but made sure I was an outsider, now I am just a “Sure Ron”.
