and just by way of a change of mood ? a must for elvis fans and for the rest of us a curious and interesting film about the possible afterlife with some good music and humor thrown in - never been crazy about elvis but he was undoubtedly an icon a one of a kind and has never been repeated as far as I can tell. well worth a looky see
JemBud has been gone for 3640223 seconds, maybe his seconds are out, permanently.
Hereās lookin at yer.
well heās nursed this baby for a long long time - now he needs a Bat Mitzvah ceremony?? or is that a craic weād be needin?
Sometime it is good not to know Gumbuddy, ignorance and all the stuff, Rock and Roll.
@spitfire - well if I know human nature as well as I was trained to heāll be back - just needs a rest and some local craic from around his way and then the lure of the shed will be too much and phyllis will be tellin im - āJem ya like a bear with a sore head - git back in that shed and talk to the lads and the lasses - thatās no way to treat ya absent friendsā!!
bye the bye has anyone seen that other fella who speaks with a norwegian accent and tells weird stories - wots his name nuts and fruitycake or somat like that?
Yer mean that fella who is sometimes Raisin Posts, who lives down GWR territory, you decide, is that the Great Western Railway or Gods Waiting Room?
I thought we were all in Gods waiting room ; the last great railway waiting room in the world! anyway lads and lasses I have heard a rumour that the great āhoudiniā Jem the jeweller may be making a guest appearance soon - fingers crossed I think he has crossed the Liffey recently? lets give him some welcome craic!!
Oooh! Cāmon Jemstar, lets be having youā¦canāt keep folk hanging about. Gumbud seems to think we are all sitting in a waiting room.
@PixieKnuckles - shhh! shhh! -heās gotta ease himself in gently which includes warming up the shed a little? now did anyone put up any balloons and streamers and get a guiness barrel tapped and ready?
To exit the Shed
Can be full of Dread
Spiders inside
Deriders outside
Planks for protection
Words for deflection
Better to Potter
Than become a Rotter
Enjoy walk
Accept Totter
Think Blotter
Erase the Flobber.
I really like that!
I be here I be. Iāve been somewhat immobilised of late, so I ended up paying a lady to beat me up. Are you familiar with the term, āgood painā?
Iām still doing a good John Wayne impersonation when I walk though.
I donāt know about a Norwegian accent, but speaking of an impersonation, I can still do a reasonable one of the Swedish Chef from the Muppets.
Nice to āseeā you lovely folks again. Great reading all your scribbles., and thanks for keeping the ball rolling.
The wife and me had a wonderful time visiting places we have heard plenty about but never actually got around to seeing. Thankfully weāre not short of a few bob so we decided to splash out and do it in style, and thatās exactly what we did, it really is a beautiful country. The daughter took early retirement this year so we took her along, she drove us everywhere, good job she doesnāt take a drink.
We stayed in the best accommodation eating the best grub. Itās a long story and I wonāt bore you with it, I know how boring it is to listen to other peoples holidays and having to look at all those woeful snaps they produced by the wallet full in the days before digital cameras.
Anyway herself really enjoyed being pampered and if ever a woman deserved it Phyllis does, itās what she wanted, no language problems, currency problems, food poisoning risks, persistent beggars hanging out of yer lip for a wart, just great scenery music and craic and friendly ordinary people who appreciate your custom, and Mrs OāMaraās homemade soda bread is to die for, besides I think our own deserve all the business they can get after all theyāve been through.
This is just a quickie to let you know I aināt dead yet, Iāll post more when Iām settled back in, feel a bit rusty posting at the moment.
I can still work the old youtube videos, thatās a start.
@Jem - good to see you back Jem.
It sounds like you had a wonderful time on your break, Iām looking forward to seeing any photos you have taken.
Great video of Donegal
@Jem - welcome back old fella - now will ya get a move on this shipās been rudderless for far too long!! we need that old āmadrasā touch and the sounds of aye aye captain!! and tell Phyllis we all love her!!
It isnāt even 6am yet, and Iām already chuckling away! Its great to see you back, Jem and Iāll look forward to some stories when you get the chance
