@spitfire you haven’t been to Ukraine at all have you? Pug bear was mortified? have a look at that lovely film I posted a few stanzas up top there set in old Ireland that will renew ya spirits! I might have to pigeon post Jem and tell him you are safe - he thought you’d got lost in the forest?

Renewable is for other folks to worry about Gummy, nuclear families, that is the concern, or maybe not.

@spitfire nuclear families ; I agree a social disaster - but it is not still worldwide as yet - maybe a renewal? and that is what that fillum I mentioned back there is all about extended families cracking up in rural Ireland?

Just popped in to say glad to see you back Spitty

@Mags - he’ll be back - he is addicted - but like all addictions we need a rest from them too - I think he will miss us eventually and will get under Phyllis’s feet too much or be a bear with a bad head?

@spitfire - I came from a beautiful extended family - then broke to nuclear and abandoned them much to my shame and misery and now as I see them still in parts of the rural world and of course being torn apart in places I yearn for those days again

I hope you’re right Gummy, I do worry when we don’t hear anything from our long standing members.

@Mags did you ever hear that story of the new apprentice
who was asked by his supervisor to go to the next workshop and ask them could they borrow the “longstand” - he stood outside waiting for hours and hours??

Good one Gummy :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

@spitfire - ah but as we surge forward in this brave new world with some of us draggin our chains behind us what does the future hold - renewal? - of what - abandonment of cemetries for what they once represented? - the noisy OAP homes that remind me of bedlam?

@Mags good night don’t forget to come again - we need nurturing families not torturing ones!

ah approaching midnight in the kingdom of the united ! - and a new day starts with what?

The mixing of the nurses - take a traditional female only home - a goodly sized handful of already females in residence and a goodly sized handful - of fully charged adolescent males and wait for the first explosion? - we the selected ones [probably by best genes survey?] were called to attend a grand meeting and tour by the deputy matron in residence - remember that phrase in residence? We were toured from bottom floor with piano room ; dining room and tv room and then shown our rooms [second floor] at the east end of the building! we were then walked along a long corridor that linked the east with west and never the twain shall meet ha ha! - as we got to the middle of the corridor half listening to the dulcet irish tones of the wee deputy matron she stopped us in full walk and pointed to a large circular clock hanging from the wall. we wondered what next? the appearance of a cuckoo or what? that she said is the boundary line - beyond this point is forbidden to male residents - our heads swizzled around curiously - beyond are all female quarters and off access to any males. any males discovered in the female quarters will be held to account and disciplined!!

well all our heads could do were swiffle around - is there perhaps an invisible electrical fence that will instantly electrocute any one crossing either male or female? will an instant alarm system start blaring out like a nazi camp or will we be instantly vapourized? [more to come later!]

That sounds like a lesson in Dick-Tation>
