Leisurely Scribbles part 2

Well,it HAS to be better than today’s Chelsea v Did-they-turn up-sea!

Jem this does get a bit heavy, The Higgs Boson particle in nuclear physics is the particle which is supposed to give mass to matter. It is often called the " god particle " because of it’s importants. This is what they were looking for in the Hadron Collider.

Well what they’ve ‘proved’ so far,is that if you get enough ‘nothing’ squeezed into a small enough space-it’ll explode!

Pug, what you have said here is quite enlightening, that really could be the reason for the big bang, which is when the Higgs boson particle was around.

Some folks have spent a lifetime searching for a Big Bang, when it may have been wiser to be satisfied with a series of multiple Bonks.

You big rascal !

loosen up guys as there are no fillies to reign us in!

Here I am in the ‘top end’ [of OZ] and now in the wet season as opposed to the dry and the monsoons and cyclones start sweeping across the top end from far east Queensland to far west Kimberley WA. tonight our first ‘show’ - rumbling thunder from afar like a warm comforting blanket and lighting too from afar the night show and then the odd showers of not light but torrential monsoonal rains - I love to sit on the back verandah [we don’t have a front one] smoke a cigar and have a beer and just enjoy the night show - the ‘wet’ is always appreciated up here it brings relief and nourishment to the bush and plants and teaches us to drive more carefully!

This really is a great story Jem.

I was actually discussing this very matter with a welsh neighbour, she said " the may not realise how rude they are being. " quite amazing.

TRAVEL PLANS FOR 2015

I have been in many places, but I’ve never been in Kahoots.
Apparently, you can’t go alone.
You have to be in Kahoots with someone.

I’ve also never been in Cognito.
I hear no one recognizes you there.

I have, however, been in Sane.
They don’t have an airport; you have to be driven there.
I have made several trips there, thanks to my children,
friends, family and work.

I would like to go to Conclusions, but you have to jump,
and I’m not too much on physical activity anymore.

I have also been in Doubt. That is a sad place to go,
and I try not to visit there too often.

I’ve been in Flexible, but only when it was very important to stand firm.

Sometimes I’m in Capable, and I go there more often as I’m getting older.

One of my favorite places to be is in Suspense!
It really gets the adrenalin flowing and pumps up the old heart!

At my age I need all the stimuli I can get!

I may have been in Continent, but I don’t remember what country I was in.

It’s an age thing.
They tell me it is very wet and damp there.

PLEASE DO YOUR PART!

You can do your bit by remembering to send this to
at least one unstable person.
My job is done! Life is too short for negative drama and petty things.
So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!

From one unstable person to another.
I hope everyone is happy in your head - we’re all doing pretty well in mine!

I marvel at this latest burst of creativity Gumbud, dear boy.

Nurse Gillian & me are in the early stages of downsizing from our Victorian terraced cottage to a retired people’s flat.

It seems very nice. WE will be the youngest at 64 & 67,most other residents are in their 80s & 90’s. They have coffee mornings, quiz afternoon, bingo & outings.

We are having the flat fully adapted to disabled living. THe flat is on the ground level & is the only one which has patio doors to the gardens.

There is only one bedroom, so for the 1st time in 43 years we will be unable to have folks stay with us.

I mention all this to explain my low input to these splendid

posts in here.

I hope to return with a new interest. I have retired my topics
Uncle Vivian
Confessions of a retired shopkeeper
Archie’s diary
My Grampy’s wise sayings

nice to see you are still around - give nurse Gillian my regards! I always feel sad when I read these accounts of downsizing even though I can see the logic - it feels like a prison. However there are certainly some advantages of people not being to stay over!

I was relieved to read of the patio doors to the garden - do I feel a limerick coming on?

That really was a great piece of work Daiwai, I am impressed.

I’m not clever like Gumbud, the fellah from OZ
Though in the years gone past I quite probably was

I am in awe of the artisan ,so incredibly wise
Jem makes gold trinkets ,a feast for the eyes

Then there’s Spitfire, no not the warplane
His posts ne’er frothy, oft hard to explain.

Those I have missed from this personal hall of fame
No doubt will forgive me for omitting their name

Still a very good piece of work and better than I could do.

I had cause to visit a massive retirement village on the outskirts of the local City, each apartment seemed to have it’s own dedicated emergency ambulance parking space, spose you get what you pay for.

Watched a couple of old Horror films the other night, still good to watch especially the digitally enhanced ones, sadly those actors are with us no more. May they rest in peace and stay in their coffins this time.

All the great Horror Actors are gone
They played Dracula and his Son
And the Lanco who played Franco
How tall was he?
Six foot two or six foot three?
And Boris Karloff was never far off
Then you have my favourite fella
remember him? the great Bela.
and the girl who sat alone
with Basil Rathbone
In the John we had a Lon Chaney.
Alway the Dummy and never brainy.
There’s that big softie Peter Cushing
trying to stop the blood from gushing
When he did bite the girl with glee
the wonderful Christopher Lee.
With Peter Lorre there was never any stopping
when he creeped around with his eyes a poppin.

a budding Jem

Horizon had a good program on BBC4 last night, all about scientists playing God with DNA. They had a herd (is it a herd?) of Goats on this special farm, they were called Spider Goats, they looked exactly like your ordinary run of the mill goat except they had Spider DNA implanted into them when the were forming inside their mother, the result of this is when they give milk they can extract the Spiders silk from it in good quantities and this can be used in the human body without any rejection problems.

This is in tribute to these pioneering brave Goats, and in particular “Freckles” the first one of it’s kind.

Strolling through a Farm one Day
I came across to my dismay
A creature made from messed up eggs
Two ears a head and eight hairy legs
“Bless my soul, what happened to you?”
“Scientists, it’s what they do”
“But what’s that web upon your back?”
“To go online and have some crack”
When he said he was on a forum
I thought it best to ignore him.
“Google ‘Legs” for some suggestions ”
“Why do you ask me so many questions?”
“Maybe it’s time to take some milk”
“They only want it for the silk”
I pitied him as I walked away
A bit of him might be me someday.

Daze or days may sort it out
Short term blessings may just count
The race is on to beat the race
Sane is same just watch that space.
