Just been watching Pier runners. Never heard of them? these are people getting back to late to get back on their cruise ship. They then have to make their own way either to the next port of call or home . For those already on board it creates bit of amusement watching them run. On a conducted tour this doesn’t happen the ship will wait, go it alone and they won’t.
get two cruiise ships docked either side of a pier and god help you if your late. you could have up to 6000 people on board the ships jeering you.
Sue and I have witnessed this several times, and see ones that left it too late.
What a lot forget is some of the piers can take 10/15 minuits to get to the cruise ship. Some actually want the ship to return to the dock
