Our back lawn is about 25m x 25m so I took the advice of a local garden tool and horticultural place and bought a self-propelled Mountfield 18" dia rotary mower with a 147cc Honda engine on board. If the lawn was flat-ish I could cut it in no more than an hour or so with this mower but, it has a slope down to the back fence of about 2.5m. It takes me around 2.5 hours to mow.

I would also suggest a self-propelled mower. We used to have a Hayter Harrier for our large garden. If you’re taking up the decking - are you putting that to lawn? If I had a chance, I would lay a new lawn with clover seed. It grows far slower than grass, needs minimal mowing, doesn’t burn in drought & excessive sun, and when it flowers it looks beautiful!
