Lascaux Caves - Virtual Reality

I went to see this exhibition in Bristol museum at the week-end

Wow, it was amazing

I’ve never had a go at virtual reality before.

You had to put on the special head set and then it took you all round the caves, without moving from the spot!

You even got to dip your virtual hands in virtual paint and do a virtual cave painting on the virtual wall

It was so convincing, I thought I was really there, I didn’t realise virtual reality had got so clever

The real caves are closed to the public, so this is the only way to get to see them

Do go if you get a chance and it comes near to you, you’ll love it

Ive been to Bristol Museum on one of my weekend Trips , it was one of the best museums I had been too , also went to The Red Lodge in Bristol which was a Georgian House as I remember all free ,Which was a bonus.
The waterfont is also pretty and there is a Ship there that you can go round but I didnt have time .

Its to far for me to go on a day trip , wish i lived nearer .

It is a lovely museum, they have lot of interesting exhibitions and some good permanent displays. Very nice coffee too!

An hour and two bus rides away from me and my friend and I go quite often

I hope you get a chance to visit again x

Another thing worth doing if you can get to Bristol is a boat trip on The Matthew

It’s a modern reconstruction of the original Matthew that John Cabot sailed to Newfoundland in 1497.

They do regular trips, cream tea or fish and chip trips, even a sea shanty one

We went on the cream tea one a few years back!

Me too, very well displayed.

When I was last in the UK I went to see it. I also went to see the Brunel’s Clifton Suspension bridge (something I remember from childhood)
