nice singer but doesn’t quite hit the right spot for me - when I stack her up against some of the divas of song

Ooo thanks for posting this @DianneWoollie - I LOVE Lana Del Ray

I think she is one of the most underrated artists around, she writes, produces etc and it really shows because there’s just nobody else quite like her imo. I love all her albums and I recommend everyone gives her a whirl :003:

well music if course touches us all in different ways from jazz to classical - but that is a study in itself heh - why is it that we all respond to different music?

Hey, what are you doing? Not much
Shaking and moving in my local place
Baby don’t ask me why, don’t ask me why
Why, why, why, why?
Lie down on that side of a paradise
In the Tropic of Cancer
Cause if I went my way, you would always stay
And I would be your little ballerina, baby
I waited for you
In the place that you said you would wait
In the city, on a park bench
In the pouring rain
Because i adored you
I just wanted things to be the same
You said meet us up there tomorrow
But tomorrow never came
Tomorrow never came
Hey, what are you thinking about? Penny for your thoughts
Those lights are flashing on that old jukebox
But don’t ask me why, just have some wine
Wi-wi-wi-wi-wi-wi-wi-wi-wine
Stay, baby, stay next to a paradise
In the Tropic of Cancer
Cause if I went my way, you would always stay
And you would be my little ballerina, baby
I waited for you
In the place that you said you would wait
In the city, on a park bench
In the pouring rain
Because i adored you
I just wanted things to be the same
You said you would see me out there tomorrow
But tomorrow never came
Tomorrow never came
Roses in your country house
We played the guitar in your barn
And every day it felt like Sunday
And I wish we could have stayed home
And I could put our favorite song on the radio
Lennon and Yoko, we would play all day
Isn’t life crazy? I said now that I’m singing with Sean
That
I could keep waiting for you
In the place we always wait
In the city, on the park bench
In the summer, in the pouring rain
Baby don’t ignore me
I just wanted it to be the same
You said that you would love me like no tomorrow
I guess tomorrow never came, no, no, no
Tomorrow never came, no, no
Tomorrow never came, no, no, no
Tomorrow never came

I love some of the remixes some people have done of her tracks too Dianne, if you have a good sound system (i.e with good bass ) you might enjoy this one:

I still have my old Sony System and just joined up to a forum that is all about sound systems… snap…OMG what are these Guys talking off …high tech they are… :open_mouth:
Being an old separates system… the Sony is still of good quality…not good enough for today’s expectations… but still good…

If it’s a separates system, you might find you can add a sub-woofer… they add a whole new dimension to the sound  Mine sounds like a night club :044:

Lyrics:

Here’s the deal
'Cause I know you wanna talk about it
Here’s the deal
I promise you, like, a million tomorrows
Here’s the deal
What I can promise is I’ll lie down
Like a bed of wildflowers
And I’ll always make the sheets
Smell like gardenias wild at your feet
And I nourish you hazily

Baby, I, I, I, I’ve been runnin’ on stardust
Alone for so long
I wouldn’t know what hot fire was
Hot fire, hot weather, hot coffee
I’m better with you
It’s strange, but it’s true, darling

Not to turn into a wildfire
To light up your night
With only my smile and nothing that burns
Baby, I’ll be like a wildflower
I live on sheer willpower
I’ll do my best never to turn into something
That burns, burns, burns
Like the others, baby, burns, burns, burns

Here’s the deal
'Cause I know you wanna talk about it
Here’s the deal
You say there’s gaps to fill in, so here
Here’s the deal
My father never stepped in when his wife would rage at me
So I ended up awkward but sweet
Later then hospitals, and still on my feet
Comfortably numb, but with lithium came poetry

And baby, I, I’ve been running on star drip
IV’s for so long
I wouldn’t know how cruel the world was
Hot fire, hot weather, hot coffee, I’m better
So I turn, but I learn (It from you, babe)

Not to turn into a wildfire
To light up your night
With only my smile and nothing that hurts
Baby, I run like a wildflower
I live on sheer willpower
I promise that nothing will burn you
Nothing will burn, burn, burn
Like the others, baby, burns, burns, burns
Burn, burn, burn (Like the others, baby)
Like the others, baby, burns, burns, burns

It’s you from whom I learn, learn, learn
It’s you from whom I learn, learn, learn
