Jubilee celebrations

do you have a street party for the jubilee? all the neighbours here have chipped in and a marque set up with bunting and lights. One belongs to a car club and talking to him just now looks as if there wil be several cars of that vintage as well. hopefully the weather will stay fine and I can put the camcorder to good use

We didn’t but there was one in the town centre on Friday .

Just videoed the street part prep. Should be a great party.

We did on Saturday. I thought I had posted some pics.

It’s been pretty low key in my neighbourhood. I have caught some of it on the tv. I can see Charles standing in more in the future.

Watched the parade today. It was so good to see the Queen again, I felt quite emotional but I noticed she couldn’t wait to get off the balcony, she mustn’t feel at all well. She has always been eager to please the people on the balcony.

I for one think the celebrations have been wonderful, the performance, stage, light show and the stars were brilliant, I wish I had been there because I could tell the atmosphere was one of jubilation and happiness.

I’m glad to have lived through such an event. I doubt there will ever be another as grand, well, certainly not in my lifetime.

The thousands of people who attended shows just how popular the Queen still is.

Long Live our Gracious Queen.

curtsey from one Queen to another

I didn’t hear of any street parties around here.

Huge street party not just our street but some people in the next street (we all live in a series of cal-de -sacs ) came as well, must have been around 50 of us. So much food and drink loads left over. 4 barbi grills on the go to give some idea.

We were saying after going for a drive locally on Saturday that there wasn’t as much enthusiasm or joining in as the media coverage made you think

Only a few houses with bunting etc, no street parties around here, a few events in the parks

I was surprised, we usually like a good “do” down here but I think the cost of living crisis etc may have put people off a bit

But did you see our carnival cart in the parade?:+1::rofl:

The carnival clubs who built that are usually deadly rivals, I bet they’re back to fisticuffs and pistols at dawn today

shut up Muddy, you are making me jealous! :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice pictures, Speedy. :slightly_smiling_face:

Lovely pics but it doesn’t look very warm :frowning:

RS, did someone return the benches to the park, after the event?

We were lucky with the weather, it stayed overcast but didn’t rain.

Silly boy
