Heavens it bad enough on social forums !
Why would anyone want to join a group where there is someone you dislike ?
Perhaps it’s ok if as Bruce says the group is big enough .
All this sounds very cliquey
I am not really a group joiner anyway .
Nobody truly likes everyone else … that’s part of the fun!
I belonged to four groups in all my life so far.
- The church’s choir which also had a world dance group
- The majorettes group as Colourguard which had a ballet-jazz group
- The drum corps as a Colourguard
- The Arts and Craft Club as President of the Children section
The Figure Skating Club never worked out. Too much jealousy…
Luckily, I was popular in all of these. Nowadays, I’ve been through too much. I’d rather have peace and quiet from now on. Still hopeful to find the one…
Jealousy is too prevalent these days. I don’t need the stress anymore!
“I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member.”
Someone had to say it.
Thank you Groucho
I was made most welcome when I joined a local metal detecting club some time ago.
I was slightly nervous, the fear of meeting a bunch of poncey anaroks.
It wasn’t anything like that, there was a bar immediately downstairs…as I vaguely remember.
I used to have a permit to explore The Thames Foreshore.
There was a story going around on a metal detecting forum about a fella who found a lump of attractive rock/glass and stuffed into his front trouser pocket.
It was phosphorus and burned a hole right through his groin when it ignighted… not nice!
I much prefer to wander around aimlessly by myself…
And that’s why ended up here
Yes and no !
If it was the only group in town yes I would give it a try.
If there were options then no .
Don’t like structure, feels a bit engineered.
