Really enjoyed this intimate insight into Jilly Cooper’s life and career. I can see some of the more shocking things she has said in this show have already made headlines. I first came across her novels in the late 80s/early1990s. But this show has made me really want to read her earlier novels and satire of everyday life. Her books may not be literary masterpieces, but they were always a perfect, escapist pick-me-up back in the day. Still quite sprightly at 87, she still has a love of life and a deep curiosity about everyone she meets. If only we had more people like Jilly in the world today.
I don’t think I have read anything of hers but I do remember her from the early 70s

I would be truly astonished if you had read any of her books Bruce! I think I have only read about 3 or 4 of her books but they are memorable.
Here’s a taster
