Jeremy Hunt - The Autumn Statement

So, road tax on Electric Vehicles will be implemented from 2025? Wasn’t that one of the selling points for the take up of EVs ?

Yes! He’s honouring the triple lock, we get a 10.1% increase.

It was bound to happen sooner or later…

A sneaky 23% rise in Fuel Duty is planned from March 2023 just read on GB News. Sunak and Hunt missed that bit out today.
They really are insane.

Absolute shambles.

We are in recession, so Hunt raises taxes, shafts businesses and increases the amount of money to people who aren’t paying tax.

This is what happens when you clap your hands on the doorstep to the tune of 500 Billion in borrowing. We didn’t need to do it, we (people who share my view on lockdowns) warned them, but they went ahead anyway. Now here we are … a conservative government with socialist economics.

Well done to all of Neil Fergusons disciples. Next, will be mass unemployment and businesses going under - that means less tax revenues and more austerity.

I alway thought road tax (or whatever it’s proper name is) was to go towards repairing/building roads. I understand that electric vehicles are heavy and the wear and tear on roads could be greater. They should pay tax the same as most other motorists
