It’s definitely a lot warmer than that here!
Am sat here sweltering, and have had to switch on my air-cooler!!!
If you need any help Val;-)
It is indeed very hot here - Phew!
Better today - up to 18c - which is positively tropical. Parts of Scotland were 27c yesterday while we in the East coast only got up to 11.
A change for us too, misty and cool!
Still hot down South.
I slept well (10 to 7) after very little sleep the previous night - feel quite good today.
The weather is of the kind where currently it’s cool (11c) but may burn back like yesterday and reach 20c. Or it could stay misty all day.
My doctor increased my pain medication yesterday, explaining how this is sometimes necessary. I’m up to 15mg on the Oxycodone from 10mg plus more liquid at night. The pain has been getting worse - some moderate activity (putting together a TV or walking to the corner of the road leaves me exhausted and this is when my neck, back and shoulders begin to hurt.
Staying inside, like today, I still need the tablets although I’m going to try and reduce the frequency with which I take them.
I’d give anything to be able to go out and do a 4 mile walk.
I am so sorry you are in such pain Dreamy. That in itself is exhausting. At least you have your TV sorted now.
No idea what is on in the day, I never put mine on until evening.
I’m in no pain in the morning - it just kind of builds up during the day. By 4pm I definitely need some tablets and again just before bedtime.
When I’m walking, I have great trouble moving my head to the left or right to check for traffic. My neck is so stiff. I’m guessing this is the surgeries.
After finally assembling my TV and putting in the various sockets for the aerial, power, sound etc. I was covered in sweat. I wonder how some older people manage. I should be able to do this without difficulty, I’m only 51.
If I was suddenly placed in our Botanical Gardens I would be fine until I had to move about: It’s not sore legs or some other handicap just a very fatigued body I have, so a walking stick is no good. On the way to my doctors or coming back from my chemist there are benches for which I am very grateful, less than 5 minutes walking and I need to rest.
I suppose that it is the chemo, I don’t know exactly, but I can be fine then 10 minutes later my body is like it’s run a marathon.
Is there no-one that can take you out in a wheelchair, whilst you are feeling this way? I know here, that the Red Cross provides them. When I fell off a stage and broke a toe, we got one free of charge, but, we gave a donation anyway.
Ffosse, we pay to have jobs done around the house. We paid to have our TV and sound bar installed. We realise most jobs are too physically demanding, so we pay someone else to do those jobs for us. It’s only money after all and we sometimes have to prioritise what needs doing first.
That’s fair enough if you’re getting on in years, but putting a TV together shouldn’t be beyond me. Even once I’d got the right screws for it it was a trial, a kind of penance.
My husband isn’t getting on in years, he’s in his early 60s but disabled. He can’t do jobs he could have done easily a few years ago. Sometimes delivery and installation only costs an extra twenty pounds or so, definitely worth it.
That makes sense. One of my biggest frustrations with my illness is not being able to do things like I used to.
Going anywhere involves a taxi - and, even though I was fortunate enough to be awarded PIP, I still resent the taxi fares.
How are you feeling today Dreamy?
I’ve only just persuaded my hubby that we need to get someone in to do the jobs that he always did, he’s early 70s. We got someone to do the gutters, conservatory roof, carport etc all jobs he would do when younger. Next to think about is outside painting!
OK - I just received my Tesco order and it looks like a tiny amount of food for £44 or thereabouts.
I’ve been online here since about 9 this morning and have done little else. Tomorrow I’ve got my nurse at 11 and they want some blood. Not quite sure why this time as I don’t have chemo for another 13 days.
Right about now is when the pain kicks in, mostly my left neck, shoulder and back. I’m not taking any tablets until bedtime, though as today I’m having wine with my meal. I’ve just opened a Malbec - half today and half tomorrow before it goes off. I’m having it with sausages in onion gravy, baby potatoes, tenderstem broccoli and some carrots. All fairly easy to cook.
Just had a sip of my Malbec - nice and smooth. I know you like white wines - do you have a favourite?
Just noticed your post - how are you doing Val J?

I feel the same Ffosse, but it’s worse for you because you are still young, I’ve realised that you are only a couple of years older than my son!
I’ve been trying to plant some geraniums this morning, I only had a dozen but had to do them in two stages, I was so out of breath. I have my chemo again tomorrow so I think I will ask about this breathlessness, I think it’s one of the worst side effects.
Peisporter Dreamy.
At least you are eating well.
