That’s nice, Val J - the weather is good for a few days at least.
Take me on your phone Dreamy:lol:
Maybe take some favourite snacks with you, to hospital.
I will watch for your posts.
How lovely Val, I am glad you are having a lovely day.
I’m going to have to be careful with my mobile data - still, I’ll only post on here.
Going to download some podcasts and films if I’m up to it beforehand.
This is where I will look Dreamy. Yes I forgot you are not on contract. Good idea to take films.
I’ve got to take 6 tablets of bicarbonate of soda every 3 hours 'til tomorrow.
I know this is to make my urine alkaline and flush out the methotrexate quickly but it seems an excessive amount. I’ve googled what taking large amounts of bicarbonate can do and it doesn’t make for good reading.
Oh goodness, Dreamy.
Thanks for the update.
I try not to google stuff these days.
I wish I hadn’t googled it. I’ve phoned the hospital and am waiting for a call-back. If they don’t call, I think I’ll stop taking it even if they have to give me it again in hospital tomorrow.
Well, the hospital advice is to take as many as I possibly can but to stop if I feel sick as it is a large amount of tablets. The drug regime is, apparently, very tightly controlled.
Poor you, at least you asked, you are so much braver than me Dreamy.
I didn’t sleep very well, but am all packed up and ready to go. My stuff fits in to 2 large bags, quite heavy but at least I won’t be carrying them around much.
Come 11:30 I’ll phone a taxi. I’ll still post on this thread but perhaps not so much others. It’s just a pain typing on my phone even though it has a large screen. If they had wi-fi I’d probably take my laptop with me. But I’ve got plenty of books downloaded, a couple of movies and, of course, my music - couldn’t do without my tunes.
I can’t decide whether or not to take my expensive watch or a cheaper one. The Monaco has barely been off my wrist since I bought it a few weeks ago.
My phone is charged and I’ll take my Bluetooth earphones with me - that means I just need the 2 cables.
It’s a pity you are going to miss this lovely sunny weather but at least when you are back home you should be feeling much better and happy that it’s over!
I’m not good typing on my phone either but a short message just letting us know how you’re getting on will be good. As for your expensive watch, I think if you have somewhere safe to put it I would leave it at home, the hospital will not accept any responsibility for anything which may go missing and you may not be able to wear it all the time.
Very best wishes to you Ffosse, will be thinking of you.
Thanks for the good wishes.
They’ve got a safe they can put things in, but then, why take it if it’s going to be in a safe? I’ll just wear my cheap watch.
I’ll make sure I post on this thread. I hope they keep me in until Monday as I have an MRI then and wouldn’t relish getting out on Sunday only to have to go back to the hospital the next day
Just seen your posts on the Morning thread Dreamy. I hope all goes well today.
Hi Val, you are in my thoughts and prayers also.
Now I’ve just got to put my rubbish out in the wheelie bin.
Wheelie?
Just trying to cheer you up Dreamy. I know you have left now.
Got here OK. I’m in a small treatment room. I need 2 canulas -the first one was a success but the nurse has failed with 2 attempts to put a 2nd one in now. I’m to be continuously infused, this will make washing or changing clothes a task.
Thank you Sweetie.
My Hickman line is good in that it is permanently in my chest and I don’t need a cannula, but the down side is that it can become infected so has to be flushed every week. The cannulas do make everyday jobs difficult but you’ll get used to them Ffosse.
I’m back, hello both.
Sorry but I hate canulas, I know you need them, but like you Dreamy it is the failures that fill me with dread.
Val, you poor thing in your chest!
I will keep an eye on this thread.x
All they’re doing today is hydrating me and getting my PH value of urine onto the alkaline side because I couldn’t take all the bicarbonate of soda tablets before giving me the chemo tomorrow morning. They’ve still to do this but the ward is pretty busy.
