Is the French Way the Way to Go?

Now that the US is proving to be a fickle ally is France proving to be Europe’s saviour?

Charles de Gaulle was probably the most important French leader ever, he was abused by that pig Churchill (who was nobody’s friend) but he recognised that the USA (and to a lesser extent the UK) were not reliable friends and ensured that never again would France be at their mercy if they were invaded.

He made France able to defend itself with an independent nuclear weapon and large defence industry unlike the rest of Europe which relies almost entirely on the USA.

Trump has shown the strength of de Gaulle’s argument and the weakness of the rest of Europe. The trust in the US as an ally has been severely shaken and that trust will take a long time to re-build after Trump has gone.

Is France an alternative ally to America?

So long as the orange toddler is in charge, anyone is a better ally than the USA…

Well Canada seem to think stronger ties with Europe, whilst not France specifically, are a better option.

Didn’t de Gaulle hate England? Even though he was happy to flee here after France fell? He wasn’t keen on the US either.
