Is red wine good for you if you've got a cold/covid?

Asking for a friend

Went on a hike with someone last week and now have symptoms of a cold (possibly covid) don’t actually feel too bad so wondering whether red wine would help or make me feel worse! Anyone tried a bit of wine when poorly - did it help?

I don’t think you can buy it in the chemists where most ailment remedies are found.
But if you are determined to experiment ,go for it.

Personally, Merlot helps me sleep. :grinning:

Any alcohol variant should do the trick Azz, it has no medicinal use whatsoever but, what it does do is make a 48 hour ailment feel like a 24 hour one

Its self embalment in stages

Do you intend to use it intravenously?

Any alcohol produces a short term high Azz but is closely followed by a long term low…My advice would be a hot lemon or two 500mg paracetamol just before bedtime and you will wake up raring to go…
Red wine should only ever be supped with a nice meal…Preferably a steak or some slices of nice Scottish beef…
:yum:
Actually, I always feel better when I’ve got a cold, after a meal and a power nap…

I’ve given up the red wine with dinner, I like a goblet before as an aperitif, and a goblet of water with . . . in my old age.

I used to like reds, but my tastes have become far more refined, I now lean to lagers, any lager as long as it is wet with a bag of scratchings. :grinning:

You mean Pork Scratching? Don’t mention Pork, @Morticia doesn’t like it.

Thank you for the advisory…I will be on guard😀

Good luck
