Is It Possible For Someone To Remove Their Emails And Texts They’ve Sent You?

My Mac does the same for an email account that was hacked and taken over by spammers. It won’t download content that it thinks is malicious, which is why I questioned if the account that was sending the mail had been hacked

Be very cautious if there appears to be no script. It is possible to compose in white and write a code that could attack without notice. I got caught like that many years ago and wondered what my security was banging on about until it was almost too late.

If in doubt run your mouse over it to see if anything is highlighted in blue.

What’s a mail reader?

An email client, email reader or more formally mail user agent (MUA) is a computer program used to access and manage a user’s email.

AFAIK, the default for an iPad is Mail.

Sorry for the delay, Dodge,
l was referring to ‘texts’ as in my mobile phone texts via my mobile phone provider Tesco, which is not the same provider of my home internet that my iPad runs off.

My iPhone and iPad are not synchronised to work in unison as my daughter set my iPad up in her name as it was easier at the time.
I use the same email address on my iPhone and the iPad.

The identical emails on my iPhone with the same email address, shows the same ‘no content’ message.

No other emails or iphone texts have ‘disappeared’ only the ones from this one person. I haven’t deleted them at my end, so who has?

It’s all very odd!

Omah, You might as well be talking in a foreign language, as l still don’t know what you’re talking about!!
You worked in computers, so it’s easy for you.

I will have to have a read of them Tachyon. Thanks

Jean, l don’t know if they were hacked?

LongDriver that sounds scary. I don’t have a mouse with my iPad, just my middle finger!!

Art, stop me if this sounds daft, but, have you asked the person who sent the messages if they either did something or know what happened?

No, you’re not daft, TessA. I should.

I just wanted advice before l approach them, to see if it’s possible to intercept someone’s iPad and iPhone and remove the texts and emails they have sent to them.

All my other emails and texts from far back and from other senders are all intact and complete.

Some unimpressed customers here Art;

There is no way for a sender to remove emails from the receivers device. If there is no content in an email that is still a technically valid email.

Reasons for missing email content may be (depending on the technical conditions):

  • defect in your SD-Card in case your emails are stored there,

  • some problem in the email server software of your email provider in case you do not download the emails to your phone and remove them from the email server

  • some problem with the email software on your phone

Without knowing more details it is not possible to tell which reason is more likely.

Did you lose all email content from a specific person?

Artangel, I sometimes get the “this email has no content” message on my iPad too, (it was there today) but only for a few seconds, and if I click on the email the content will be there, eventually! Our internet connection is pretty crap out here in the sticks so I always assumed it was because sometimes it takes a while to load. Also I reallllly need to delete a couple of thousand emails…!
It does seem weird that your content has completely disappeared.
Sometimes when the no content message appears the date shows something like 1970 which was slightly alarming the first time it happened, I thought I had been hacked

Sorry, haven’t been much help :frowning:

Sounds very mysterious Art…have you ever allowed this person access to your computer or left your phone unattended in their company?

Have you had any updates on your phone recently? There’s nothing like an update to cock everything up.

It seems odd that it’s texts and emails, they’re not connected are they? The only thing connecting them is the sender, that’s why I think it’s to do with them.

You’re not a secret agent or anything are you Art, or are they?
If you are, please disregard everything I’ve posted on Politics.:shock:

To ease your worries, you iphone and ipad have not been hacked if that’s what your wondering. If both your iphone and ipad had been hacked, ALL your information would have been gone, also, hackers are only interested in collecting info on all your contacts, names phone number, also they would be after your apple id. No hacker is going to hack an iphone or an ipad just to delete the message contents of one person but leave the rest alone.

Also, it also depends on what email service the other person is using because some email providers have a feature where you can get the email stopped (not many offer that service). Maybe this person uses such a service but then why would EVER email and text message disappear?. I still maintain that there is a technical issue between Apple and the person sending the emails. Apple is initially sending you whats known as the ‘header’ which lets you know who the email is from. When you click on the email, Apple then sends the content of the email to your phone. If the person sending the emails has a problem on their end, the content of the email will not actually be sent and thus your phone will display ‘no content’.

The same would apply to past sent emails. The ‘header’ stays on the phone but the ‘content’ stays on Apple’s email server. But like I said in a previous post, it all depends on how your iphone and ipad are setup.

Yes love people can remove them I screen shot whats been sent some times u think ur losing ur mind when one minute it’s their and then gone
