Is having to arrive 3 hours before departure efficient?

Just heard that to catch an international flight from Australia one must arrive at least 3 hours before flight departure.
Domestic flight? 2 hours before departure.
All one has to do is use the self serve electronic check in terminals to confirm plus check in baggage.
That should be a smooth process, yes?
Airlines are treating passengers as mugs

Ha ha, you need to get out more, it has been like that for donkey’s years - decades at least. :icon_wink:

That’s the problem Bret, folks who can’t tolerate Faffing, can’t tolerate flying

I don’t mind faffing, as long as it is on my terms. :slightly_smiling_face:

Good point Bret, there are times an “anti-faffer” has to capitulate, best if one can make ones terms fit the situation

try a tinker for a change

U eva “Tinkered” in a departure lounge?

best place to do it

You degenerate you

In the UK you arrive early, get through all the luggage drop and security - then head to the 'Spoons. You need a couple of hours if you are going to get 5 or 6 pints in before the flight. At 7am.

A very surprising and disappointing comment coming from you Lincs…I thought you were better than this…
:disappointed:

Whatever gets you through the night, yes?

There’s a difference between having a Brandy for courage or just being an old soak… :009:

Foxy, if you listen to the health professionals, a soak should not achieve “Old Age”.

That is an Oxymoron

If you think that is bad, try walking the distance on a pier to get to a cruise ship. Look up on youtube “pier runners”.

That’s an inefficient use of time and money. When I flew to and from the UK I would drink until Dubai then sleep it off for the second half of the journey.

Alas those days are over, a couple of drinks on a flight is about my limit these days.

What? Are you dissing the UK sub-culture that is the glorious 'Spoons?
Actually, I was not describing my own approach to air travel. I always stop after 4 pints.
