Thank you all so much for your welcome messages , for what I have read so far I am really looking forward to exchanging a few posts , please bear in mind a bit I added onto my introduction where I have said that I find Forums something of a struggle to find my way round . However I will try hard .
Kind regards , Terry (harvatt)

Hello harvatt and welcome to the forum. I live just up the road where Lancasters were built.

Eliza , without any doubt , it is my favourite aircraft , unfortunately I only managed a short flight in one - from Scampton RAF station to Lindholme RAF station . We were really overloaded with kit and nearly over ran the runway . Regards . Incidentally what part of the country where your Lancasters built .

Thank you Cheshire Cat - such lovely welcomes , I cannot really get over it . I will bet you saw a few antics then when they were going up on test flights . I was based on training stations where they converted crew from twin engine aircraft to four engine and I saw plenty , the best laugh really was one Wednesday afternoon ,which was sports afternoon , but one Lancaster somehow headed right onto the football pitch , you can picture the panic . Thank goodness no one was hurt . Take care .

Hello Terry! What an interesting life you’ve led. Great to see you here

Hi Terry  if you have any problems finding your way about the site and need any help feel free to start a thread here to get help…

I’m not as old as that Terry!!! It was during the war when they were built here at Woodford, Cheshire!
That was pretty scary, thank goodness, as you say, no one was hurt.

Welcome Harvatt

Lancasters

A bit tied up for time today if I may call you joy , but time to work a quick one in , Joy I would not dream of thinking you are that old !!! , I have now seen your photo - you are far to good to even to remotely think of that ! !
Look after yourself, Terry .
