Gertie is looking like an established member of your Bedlington family already, Mups :-D.
A great photo of them!

Canny photo of the terrorists, was talking to achap yeterday about his shetland, and we got on about beddies. He was telling me about the ffact that at one time there were no Bedlington breeders in Bedlington, the closest was where i live.
Me too Twink. I had a British shorthair Blue/Cream/White who was diagnosed with a heart murmur when she was one. She died aged twelve which is about average for the breed.
Lovely to see Gertie has fitted into the family so well
Lovely Photo Mups and they look really happy together.
Very sweet picture Mups they look lovely all togetherā¦
Twink & Longdogs, what was the cause of cats heart murmurs though, did you ever find that out?
There are not many down this way either. It was a devil of a job trying to find a nice stud dog a couple of years back, because there are so few here.
As you say, they are breeders up North, Harrogate, Bolton, Sunderland, Leeds, Co.Durham and Rotherham areas, but by the time I found my way that far, my girl would have gone off the boil!
Just catching up. Lovely photo, Mups, but so sorry about Gertieās murmur. But if itās only grade one I would guess she will be a happy little mite for a good while. Iām sure you will give her her ideal life. xx
No they never investigated, just checked if it was getting worse on the check ups. Over the years I have had 3, but none of them died with heart problems, their death was always some other reason. both lived to their teens and the current one is 12 now.
Lovely photo mups Iām a strong believer the dogs all come to us that we can help most, I know you are right person to take came of her just as we are right family for our brain damaged Elsie, many other homes would just not be right places for either of them.
Thank you Julie. Someone else said something similar too.
I donāt care if people think Iāve lost the plot, but Iām taking her for a some spiritual healing at the local church tonight. Sheāll enjoy a little trip out and being made a fuss of - no harm in asking for a bit of extra help for her.
Elsie is your new(ish) lab isnāt she? How did her brain get damaged?
She has a tumour behind her eyes itās affecting her sight and behaviour. Very little they can do as operating may make matters worse. So we accept her behaviours and cope with them and we have put in place things we usually only have to use with elderly doggies like never move furniture, keep her on lead so she can find us etc
Sorry about that Julie, thatās rotten, she is only young isnāt she? How often does she need monitoring?
We see the vet every three months and they scan if we have had any real changes, but as they canāt treat her we donāt bother her too much with that.
Mups and Julie - you two are the kind of people who restore my faith in human beings !
. . . Well . . . I donāt know what to say ST, other than thank you. x
Animals get sick just like we do and they deserve to get care. I have had 2 diabetic cats who both needed 2 jabs a dayā¦ which I gave them. I now have a cat with asthma who has to have an inhaler every day, and I can tell you I would much rather care for a sick animal than a sick person.
Me neither, we are just doing our best, Elsie had wormed her way into our hearts before we realised the problems she had, never occurred to us to give up on her she has never given up on us.
Oh boy !
Now thatās a worry.
