Insulate Britain: Mum on school run who drove at protesters blocking road loses licence

The school run walk won’t do her any harm.

I don’t support the protesters, I think stupid protests like theirs puts everybody’s right to protest in danger, because the government will use it as an excuse to make laws to crack down on all protests

But it makes absolutely no difference what the protesters were doing

You are not allowed to drive your car into people, or assault them in any other way, just because you don’t like what they’re doing or because they’re in your way.

And quite right too, silly dangerous thing to do and she should pay the price.

Hopefully it will be a warning to others thinking they can take the law into their own hands just because their victim is unpopular with the pack, the government or the media

I think, having used her car as a weapon, she should have been banned from driving for life

That’s quite an arse. Perhaps a bit too much.

Whenever I see a demo causing chaos, interfering with peoples lives, I just want to hug them.

I probably don’t know who they are or why they are doing it, but it makes me feel proud to be British. Pass the spliff. Of course I don’t agree with them, but that’s not the point. They are doing what they believe in. You’re only young once.

Could be they’ve taken leave, are unemployed or retired?

But she’s allowed to drive her car in to them :fearful:

Lets be really grateful that we live in a society that allows us to protest as just look around the world to at the governments think nothing of killing protestors. So some people were/are inconvenienced so what?

Protest by all means but not to inhibit others going about their right to normal daily activities. Anyway the protest was for a stupid cause thought up by someone with a grudge

What is the point of a protest them?

So how would that work then?
I think that the new crime bill is looking to breakup and arrest those taking part in a protest if it is deemed too noisy which is ridiculous and a bit of the thin end of a wedge.

Many ways to protest without being obstructive such as contacting their MP or by a petition

You have a lot of faith RS, good luck.

I’m all for protesting …peacefully and not obstructirng others …like ambulances.

But what exactly did these particular protesters want to achieve?
I understand their objective is to raise awareness of climate change?

It’s not something that is going to change overnight so it’s rather ludicrous, not to mention dangerous to sit in the middle of roads.

SS has to carry out 20 days of community punishment in the next year. I wonder what form they will take …

Perhaps Community Payback:

She’s got the hoodie gear:

All she needs is an orange vest:

SS was fortunate that the offence of assault was dropped by prosecutors - if found guilty of that then she would have a “proper” criminal record.

I wonder if she avoided points on her licence, too … I haven’t seen that mentioned anywhere … :017:
