Illinois is the first state voting a new law regarding cash bail money,
Kuddos to them!
I never understood why killers and criminals could roam around the streets provided, they had their pockets full of cash, whereas an indigent person stealing to feed their hungry kids could stay months in jail awaiting trial.

I read a number of headlines saying that Illinois is the first state to pass a no cash bail law but I also saw this from NY.

But this is from the NY Post so should be taken with a grain of salt.
