Illegal Hare coursing

There was / is lots of this around our way .
the farmers have now put huge bales and tree trunks in front of all their gates in order to thwart them
B****** ds

Despicable people. There seems to be increasing anarchy in recent years, which has to be a result of cuts in police numbers. It must be very frightening for these landowners, not to mention frustrating.

Another so called ‘ethnic ‘ minority ( what nonsense) who everyone wishes were a complete minority .

All the evidence is that animal cruelty & child abuse are linked. So those involved in pursuits such as hare coursing, badger baiting, fox hunting & dog fighting etc should be looked at very closely.

No doubt but usually the children of er ‘travellers’ learn pretty quickly to be as thuggish as their fathers by example.
True psychopaths tend to act alone and in a more studied cruelty.

Been going on for donkeys years though, hasn’t it Muddy.

From time to time it’s on the local news, or messages sent via Neighbourhood Alert from the Cops.
The farmers are being intimidated and threatened, machinery stolen or smashed up, barns and straw/hay bales set alight.

Big money can change hands at the betting on their Lurchers.

The police will never be able to stop them, b ecause they never know where these people will strike next.

Unfortunately travellers are a protected species and break the law with impunity. They are also dangerous and as you say intimidating .
The police are frightened of them too.

Funny but Rabbit coursing is not illegal.

I whole heartily agree with that evidence. There must be something wrong with the way some people’s brains are wired :disappointed_relieved::sob:

The Hunting Act 2004 is certainly a strange & ill conceived beast. It is legal to hunt rabbits with dogs, but not hares. It is legal to flush a fox with 2 dogs maximum, unless you are using a bird of prey, in which case, you can flush a fox with a pack. But how many people hunt foxes with a bird of prey & why would they need more than two dogs?

The Hunting Act 2004 feels like a law that was intentionally put together to create ambiguity & opportunities to breech it with impunity.

Hare coursing - apart from being horribly cruel causes much damage to the fields and crops. ‘Travellers’ break down gates and drive all over the sown fields causing huge ruts and crop damage . They don’t care about using cars to break down gates as they have usually stolen the cars in the first place .

They are an appalling scourge of today’s society🤬
I could say more but it’ll only get deleted followed by a wagging finger :man_shrugging:
