I last went to a Casino at least 30 years ago. My go to vices were Black Jack (21), Roulette and Keno
Ive never seen a poor bookmaker.....so that
s why I don`t gamble at all.
We had people visiting who wanted to go to a casino.(They go to Vegas)So we took them to a big one in the middle of Melbourne. It was a different world to me and not one I’d want to visit again.I didn’t give the casino any of my money either.
A few years ago, we stayed in Vegas for a week or so and like many hotels there, they are also casinos, so it was a bit hard not to go in one. That said, I never gambled as I have worked hard to earn my money and I don’t see the sense in giving it away to make someone else rich, on the astronomical probability of actually winning something.
Having the odd small flutter is one thing as some entertainment, but to gamble on cards, fruit machines, dice etc is a mugs game.
The Yorkshire in me won’t allow me to throw money away…if I go to the casino I always get just £20 of chips and play Black Jack…I usually lose the £20 but I reckon the free drinks makes up for it…I know I’m a skin flint
You are not such a skinflint as me!
This Yorkshire Lass has set herself a limit of £10 worth of Chips on the rare occasions I go to a Casino - and if I am lucky enough to win a bit, I keep £10 in Reserve, so when I’ve lost the rest of my winnings, I still have my £10 initial stake to cash in!
A free evening of entertainment - but if I lose the lot, I don’t worry - I can live with paying £10 for an unusual fun night out
Not exactly a Bond girl are we Miss Moneypenny…
This is about as Bondian as I ever got
Splashing out with the pocket money on the pier way back when. Sometimes my winnings covered a bottle of Cresta …shaken not stirred.
getting out alive ?
funnily enough Graham i mirrored you
i also visited Vegas a few years ago [about 2000] and i never gambled a penny, lol
i was almost poisoned by their version of coffee, but other than that the food was great.
and did you know the song Penny Arcade was written by a Yorkshire guy
i met him but like so many other things ive forgotten his name…
