I was a heavy drinker and would drink most things.
Except Whiskey. Most disgusting.
Beer was the dominant drink of choice. Bacardi Rum, Southern Comfort, Port was delicious
I would drink Mercury Cider which was alcoholic apple cider. Disgusting but if there was nothing else to drink…
Cask wine was quite awful but very cheap…about $4 for 2 litres. It used to be called two buck chuck, cheap and nasty.
Lubrication in moderation Bret, the secret to a long life.
Yeah well nobody told me that back in my shozzleling days. ![]()
I did drink, in moderation mainly, but not now. Gin & vodka drinks I hated but drank sometimes.
You should not have been needed to be told, you should have been aware, “Drink Aware” but, you are still here so, what does that mean?
It means I drank so much, if I continued to drink my liver would have exploded. ![]()
That is obvious but, that is not the point and it didn’t, you are where you are.
I only drunk a drink I didn’t like once ![]()
which is most alcohol.
I drink very little now, and in fact haven’t partaken during Christmas at all this year. But when I have a drink, I like a nice beer like Carlsberg. Once, many years ago, I was having some emotional drama and decided I should have a drink. The only thing available was whiskey. I didn’t actually like whiskey so I searched for something to disguise the taste and all I could find was pineapple juice, so I added that. It tasted about as awful as you’d imagine.
Way back in the mists of time I used to drink far too much of this awful stuff…
It went with a certain youth punk subculture thing, we’d wander around the west end of London before gigs clutching and swigging on a can or two posturing, sad really. Even worse there was a fad for mixing Special Brew and Merrydown Cider snakebites. No way I could face one of those now! ![]()
Said this before, if it was good enough for Churchill, it’s good enough for me.
OOH YES ![]()
Well it obviously hits the spot for you Spitty! ![]()
I had to look up the Churchill connection… have one on me! ![]()
A bit later in the day perhaps…and no swigging at the bus stop! ![]()
![]()
That’s a no no!!
Does that fall into the “Undrinkable” category?
You’ve gotta show willing. ![]()
I’ve imbibed a beer or two even though I’ve gone off it lately. A beer has to be tried every now and then to see if I’ve gone off it long term. I drank brandy with dry ginger ale over Christmas …and a Baileys or two. I quite enjoyed those.
I cut my teeth at 17 on Carlsberg Specials and boy did they make me ill, It took around 18 months of sickness, being drunk, and getting yelled at for being an idiot. These days I’m Tee Total and glad of it. So many soft and non alcoholic drinks around now.

Don’t think its important either way. more folks take prescription drugs than alcohol, that maybe that’s where the respectable problem lies?
