Ideas to get rid of Tailgaters?

I would love to modify my car with a tank of oil at the rear with a control button on my dash. When those gaters get too close, push the button, sending them into a spin and crashing through the barrier and into the river below. :laughing:

put a sticker in the rear window saying “you are on camera”

going one step you could get a small spy type camera and stick it on the rear screen. those following won’t know if its real or even one that works

Those would put paid to them dastardly tailgaters. :smiley:

I never saw many Bond movies, never saw that one. Perfect to get rid of tailgaters. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I have often thought of putting on the hazard lights and slowing down. No doubt the tailer would pull out in a huff and go racing past. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I’ve done that. They do pull off and go racing past. Isn’t that what you want them to do?

Same experience with my Dmax, they can flash their lights all they like, I can’t see them, I might just be able to see the roof of their car in the rear view mirror.

All that would do is most certainly put you before a judge. It would be far better to follow my example and put a fake but realistic Police Cap on your rear parcel shelf or somewhere in the back where it can be seen by any following driver, thus giving the impression that your are off-duty plod. I am never tailgated for long :+1:

Just pull out of the way when it’s safe to do so, you don’t know what frame of mind the tailgater is in…

It is what I want them to do, so far I have not been prepared to do it. My luck a policeman would see me and book me for illegal use of hazard light. While the tailgater goes on their merry way.

Just travel at or below the speed limit regardless.

If someone is that annoying, I’ll just pull over and let them pass or drive so outrageously slow that they do.

You could also try waving them past with your arm out the window to let the tailgaters know to pass you.

If the police somehow saw your hazard lights that you used as a signal to the tailgaters, they would have seen the tailgater, so you could explain why you were doing that.

Put a notice on the back of your car .

If you are near enough to read this you are a total banker ( or something )
