Honestly, l see the most bizarre things in life!
Feeling lazy, l caught the bus from the top of the town down to the bottom.
A young lady with a shaved head, with a pram got on and was was facing everyone on the bus. She recognised two ladies and they started a conversation.
‘He’s coming out of prison this week’
‘Who?’ said the two ladies.
‘Me nephew but he’s staying somewhere in Milton Keynes for now’.
‘You’ve got a new pram’? said the ladies.
‘Yes, the other was falling apart. I got my electric filled up last night, Someone from the electric company came and topped it up’.
I thought, Oh my goodness how is she able to look after that poor baby.
At the next stop, not far from the one she’d got on, she pressed the buzzer to get off.
I thought, l must see the poor baby… she turned the pram to get off the bus… and there was a life size baby doll…
Another passenger turned to the two ladies and said, ‘Was that a doll in her pram?’
‘Yes’, they said. ‘She did have a baby but it was taken off her and she was just left with its clothes’.
I know there’s some complicated psychology going on there. But, I can’t help but feel sad for this incompetent young Mother, but, probably more relieved that the baby is safe.
I have heard since that this lady is well known especially by the bus drivers.
Last Christmas, she was warning the ‘baby’ if it wasn’t good, it wouldn’t get its Christmas presents.
No idea about this case, obviously. My daughter was recalling a girl in the same year as her in school who used to romance all sorts of stuff, including having a cancer. She used to discuss stuff with another girl whose grandmother was dying with cancer, and her claims just didn’t add up. They subsequently discovered it was a load of old tosh and it was another attention seeking ploy.
Maree, The doll was one of those that look like a real baby. It was such a shock to me as l genuinely thought she was a young mother out with her baby.
