Withdrew $100 and left it there.
I noticed this morning, 24 hours later that my wallet seemed to be $100 short.
Went back this morning, explain my issue and a smile came across the checkout lady.
“Don’t worry love, it happens all the time. We have your money in the safe”
Gripping stuff this! I just couldn’t wait to see how it panned out.
I plonk all kinds of strange and inappropriate things in the bagging area just for the hell of it and the adrenaline rush!
I’m getting quite a reputation in Poundland…
Whenever an assistant suggests I use the self checkout - I always say I don’t work there but I will when they start giving a discount for doing so!
We rarely use them. I think using assisted checkouts could stop a person’s job being axed.
The wife has stopped me using self service checkouts with my debit card… THREE times I have left my card in the machine, then walked out without it. She took the card off me, under the 3 strikes and your out rule!
I always use the hand scanner in Tesco because I hate engaging in worthless conversation…How are you today, the weather, are you going on holiday…
There is this attractive blonde girl from Finland who looks after the machines and I always go out of my way to talk to her though…
Don’t you use ‘contactless’ John…?
Foxy, I’m a bit old school. Always prefer to put my pin number in myself. However, speaking of contactless, some bugger could have swiped my card with no problem, if they had got hold of it. In my defence, all three times were in different stores, Asda, Aldi and Tesco, which shows I spread the joy around! I was extremely lucky to get the card back on all three occasions. I do believe I have a lifetime ban!
I just thought contact might be more secure John because you never let go of your card and nobody can watch you using your pin…
