I Talk To The Trees - Do They Listen To Me?

Sitting in front of a lovely, warm, fireplace, at the golf Club, it occurred to me that a bit of thinking, about staying warm & cozy, in the future, would be a good plan.

We keep hearing that replacement Gas boilers are going to cost, about, 10 grand, and that Gas & Electricity will soar in price such that only the well to do will benefit from it.

So, I aim to find out if it’s possible to get a good back burner fire place, connect it up, efficiently to the Central Heating pipes, and stay warm based on burning the wood from all these trees that the “Higherups” are planting.

Once you’ve got the installation, maybe you just need a good sharp axe?

What do you think?

It might be the only way to go?

@Tedc ,l think they would shoot you for poaching trees Ted !
BTW, l thought exactly the same thing just yesterday !
I was thinking of dumping the electric fire and opening up the
chimney again to fit a solid burner in there?
At least l’d be independent again ? err, would l??
Donkeyman! :thinking::thinking:

It could all get to a “take what you need” society.

Will people let their kids freeze to death to avoid cutting down some trees?

Even those who believe, passionately, in stopping global warming, may think again when the chips are down (pun)!

@Tedc , Yeah, funny thing is, when we returned to UK about
7yrs ago, we thought we were coming back to a country that was
well run and everything would work like clockwork, people were
looked after by the state of they were struggling etc!
And what did we find ???
BTW. We came from a supposed backward African nation that
was over whelmed by corruption and inefficiency etc !!!
Wot a parf !

Are you sure about that? Electricity prices are tumbling because of cheap renewable energy to the point that the government has to promise to subsidise a gas fired power station to use some of the gas that we have too much of in our “gas led future”.

When I was a child in the UK the houses I lived in had back boilers to heat the water but it meant you had to have a fire on all the time.

better talk to the animals
