I notice Woolworths have a camera attached to the checkout till

I was using the self serve checkout a Woolworths today and noticed a little animated face on the top right of the screen.
As I studied the face I realised it was my very own face. :scream:
It seems that Woolworths are viewing their shoppers at the checkout.
I gave them the bird to register my displeasure.
When I asked the checkout assistant about it she simply shrugged her shoulders. :woman_shrugging:

We havenā€™t had a Woolworths for years.

Our Woolworths is a food supermarket. Yours was something else?

It was the Go To Store in most Towns, sold just about everything.

Same here. I miss that place. Best roast beef sandwiches Iā€™ve ever had.

That is disconcerting, being snapped in the ā€œPic N Mixā€ :icon_wink:

I was very naughty when I was little, they had the big wide counters that stuck out over the floor in those days. I used to sit under them and pick up the sweets that had fallen thereā€¦Till my mum caught me and I got a hot bot.:disappointed_relieved:

Yeahā€¦Australian Woolworths have nothing to do with the stores we remember elsewhereā€¦bought loads of records in ours and a badminton racquet once I remember.

Were there any Strings Attached?

It was F W Woolworths in the UK, an American company, went bust decades ago. Some Aussie bright spark noticed that they hadnā€™t registered the name in Australia

I meant to say I am not surprised there are cameras at the self serve check outs to watch out for those villains that have discovered that Avocados are much cheaper if you call them potatoes.

Supermarkets in my area have multiple cameras set all over the stores ans they have had them for ages. Everywhere you go there are cameras watching me, but it doesnā€™t bother me as I have nothing to hide. Anything to keep people safe must be a good thing.
