I love chopping Onions.....Not

:hocho: :onion: :sob:
How do you stop the tears from flowing

It’s all part the culinary experience Bretrick!
I think some people chop their onions under the water in a container. The onions being under the water I mean, not the choppers themselves…

I’m afraid I can’t offer any further tips or advice.
That’s shallot!

Hi

I have to avoid knives as much as possible, I am on two very powerful blood thinners.

I use ready diced and sliced frozen red or white onions,

Easy to use, cheap and no wastage.

I also use frozen pellets of ready chopped chillies and ginger.

ooh, one slip of the knife could lead to no more swimfeeder.

My mum had something like this…

I’m sure it was from Woolworths, probably K - tel or Ronco.
Worked a treat…no apps or upgrades required :+1:

Hi

You are absolutely right.

When I was in hospital in March this year I had a small incision, it took 4 hours to stop the bleeding.

I’ve heard if you put a metal spoon in your mouth while chopping onions it stops the tears, not tried it myself I rarely use onions, but when I do I chop them at arms length with my head averted !

We love onions and I always use more than is really needed. I made a huge pot of stovies a few days ago and used 4 really big onions. I always cut them on a big wooden board that I have taken over to the work top beside the back door. The fresh air blowing in seems to take the smell away so no tears. Maybe under an open window would help too, or better still if you have an outside table chop them there.
