I have finally found the plant I was searching for years ago - Cornus (dogwood)

So I first saw this beautiful plant when on a visit to Windsor (near the castle) at least 6 years ago and I have been on a quest to find out what it is. Today I finally found out that it is called Dogwood. Thank you Gardeners World for solving this mystery!

Do you have any photos of mystery plants that you would love to see in your garden (if only you knew what they were called!)? Perhaps others here can name them?

I looked for years for Fritillaria. I didn’t know their name, just that they were a “bell shaped” flower. People suggested so many different flowers and I just kept saying no, that’s not it. I got so frustrated, but patience won out in the end
