Would someone like to explain what a Night Knocker is?
Is it an American knocker-up ?

Does this person go around “Knocking up”? 
To make a woman pregnant or wake someone up in the morning.That’s the choice.

None of the above. According to most references I’ve seen on a quick search, it’s a night watchman or patrolman.
