It looks like it! Mags. I thought it would be an easy plant to guess?
Mups, Thanks for your comment about my garden.
I don’t think it is a Horse Chestnut as the leaves are quite small.
The buds on my plant are more round than pointed.
Hi Tachyon, Long time no hear! I hope you’re keeping well.
The trouble with the apps l have tried, is that they want you to agree to stuff. Did the app, you used request the same?
Longy, Any inspiration, since?
You could ask Plantman.
I am totally flummoxed. But looking forward to seeing what flowers from that bud.
Here are some more pics of the yellow flower that is coming out a bit more. Could it be some sort of Mimosa?
The pics seem almost identical!
Looks a bit peony-ish.
I’ve pondered for a couple of days over this and I think it is a variety of ranunculus Artangel. (A member of the buttercup family). There’s about 500 varieties and yours could be a wild one or a cultivar. Some of the cultivars are very brightly coloured.
I think it is a new species.
its a Hellibore?
Thank You, TessA.
The flower bud is quite small, as are the leaves. My iPad pics seem to make everything look bigger, or maybe l take them too close up!
Mmmm… Good shout Doc.
The more I look, the more I think it is a ranunculus of some sort.
Aerolor, Thank You, it could be but I think the leaves are different but then as you say, there are 500 species!
Thank You, Doctor. I have just looked at Hellebores, it could be the same type flowers but l still can’t see leaves that are similar.
Longy, You might be right! I will have to put a sign on my gate and charge admission to the crowds that flock here from all over the world, to see it!
I’ve been hunting for pictures of the leaves, but I can’t seem to post them Artangel. Once the flower is out you should know for sure. Hope it is a cultivar.
I can’t believe this, the flower has now come out! l only took the last pic of the closed bud, about 2 hours ago.
The ? drone landed on it as l was taking the pic!
Aerolor, l think, you might be right?
Now it looks hypericum-ish!
