I am totally wrecked now!

Been playing working in the kitchen most of the day.

Made 1 x gallon of leek and potato soup

Cooked/sliced/vac packed a gammon joint

Made lasagna - enough for 4 x portions.

Made Beef stew - enough for 6 x portions

Blanched/vac packed/frozen - 2kilos each of carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, capsicums and mushrooms.

God bless whoever invented the home vac pack machine - and heaven help me if the freezer breaks down!

Going to open a bottle of Malbec, grab a DVD or two - flop onto the sofa and sort a couple more drawers of craft stuff!

Cheers!

I dunno … is the lasagna nice?
Have you frozen it yet?

It tasted good to me, Morti - and yes, it is frozen now!

Hmm … you’ve made me feel hungry.

Too late, she’s frozen it all.
I was sat here hinting begging for some lasagna.

I’ve never vac packed sliced gammon before, it only occurred to me the other day, so I bought one and was planning on doing it this week. Though, having said that, we’ve got the builders in all week from tomorrow, so it’s likely to stay in the fridge as is, come to think of it. It’s got a good long date on it though…

You deserve a break. I hope you get a chance to relax. :023:

Sorry for this off-topic question, but since I couldn’t figure out what gammon was, I looked it up and found out that gammon is a piece of pork or an insult. How do people tell which one it is in speech?

All well and good but you must remember not to do it next summer though. This year your freezer was full and you could have been sitting with the door open or in it.(Depends what sort you got)

You know, I never knew that and had to google it. You learn something new everyday.

Totally wrecked? I only get totally wrecked after a half dozen schooners not after cooking.

(Glad it was a success though)

Yes - but I have friends who drop in - and expect to be fed! Now the plague is on the wane they have started doing that again.
