Goblin Swamp is 350kms, 217 miles from Perth.
I have made it to Bussleton. Plan to overnight here and go on to Goblin Swamp tomorrow.
Camping at Snottygobble Loop so I can video to swamp at nighttime.
I am hoping that there will be standing water in the swamp as when I was there 5 months ago it was dry.
The drive down from Perth took 2 1/2 hours - 230km, 143 miles.
Very heavy rain forced me to back off on speed as visibility at times was down to less than 50 meters.
Goblin Swamp is another 120km - 75 miles from Busselton.
I will arrive at about 2pm tomorrow - Thursday 5th June.
There has not been as much rain at Pemberton as Perth/Mandurah/Bunbury/Busselton so there most likely will not be standing water.
I am hoping there is water as I brought a torch to shine into the water, eliciting reflections onto those gnarly trunks of Melaleuca Paperbark trees seen in the video.
No water? Then I have another card up my sleeve.
Night vision binoculars that record. I wonder what that vision will be like?
I am almost certain that the goggles, though recording, there is no audio facility.
Here is my first test video using the night vision binoculars.
It was not fully dark when this vision was taken.
I am surprised as I can hear stuff on the video. Maybe it does record audio.
A Kookaburra.
