I am on holidays in Mandurah for 2 weeks starting today, 6th April 2025

On my drive down the Kwinana Freeway, I was sitting on the speed limit using cruise control.
99% of traffic went speeding past me.
At one stage, a vehicle in the right lane was sitting one car length behind the car in front, at 110kph.
Totally ridiculous and very, very dangerous.
Have these people no common sense?
An accident at that speed, so close behind would have caused death for sure. There was considerable traffic in both lanes. Tailgaters at that speed should incur immediate loss of license for 12 months but tailgating infringements can only be enforced if and when a law enforcement vehicle spots it.

Yes, bad driving practices can be seen the world over. The roads here in town areas are potholed, or patched so much that surfaces are very uneven. This acts as traffic calming and nobody drives too fast unless they want to pay for suspension repairs

It the same here in Crawley mart just down the road from you. The potholes are often attributed to the clay soil. I’m not a civil engineer so I don’t know how much truth is in this. One thing I will say is as a cyclist riding close to the kerb is not without risk, potholes aplenty :open_mouth:

I can certainly confirm that. If not potholes, it’s the edges of the tarmac …and drain holes.
