How to stay young when we getting older

That’s such a powerful and touching memory, thank you for sharing it. It’s inspiring to hear how you both took on those hills together, especially after everything you went through. The bond you shared, and the strength it took to get back out there, really says so much. I’m sure your brother would be proud of how you’ve kept those memories alive.

Come on, this isn’t reality TV—we’re all just friends here!"

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to step in and say that I’m truly sorry if this topic has led to any tension or misunderstanding. That was never my intention. I created this thread simply to encourage friendly discussion and sharing, nothing more.

It saddens me to see any conflict, especially in a place that I believe is full of kind and thoughtful people. I still hope this space can remain welcoming and respectful for everyone.

Let’s remember that behind every comment is a real person, and we’re all here with our own stories, hopes, and reasons for being part of this community.

Thanks for understanding, and again, I apologize if anything I wrote contributed to any confusion or upset.

It’s all good mental exercise when getting older, look after body and mind.

Thanks for understanding. I really appreciate your kindness.

@d00d Yes! At this rate, my brain’s getting more exercise than my legs lately😅

It was nothing you wrote Pimmy, @StraightUp and me are the best of friends really, it’s just our sense of humour…
You don’t think that was the real Mrs Fox do you? (if only!)
Sometimes it’s hard judge how people will react to a comment because we are not face to face with them and can’t see their body language. Over the years, writing on forums, you can learn a lot about people from the way they write and the things they write, and you can build up a picture of the person. Some are delicate and get emotional or offended, and others enjoy the banter and humour. I would never intentionally offend or upset anyone on the forum, so I will respond differently when replying to posts depending who I am replying to.
I consider all members of the forum friends, but there are those who I would probably enjoy as friends in real life, and @StraightUp would be one of them…So for the time being, Mrs Fox is safe…

@OldGreyFox
Thank you so much for explaining really, I appreciate it. It’s good to know I didn’t accidentally start World War III on the forum!
I understand now that it was all in good fun between you and @StraightUp, your kind of humour just has a sharper edge (like a cheeky ninja with a keyboard).
And no, don’t worry, I didn’t think that was the real Mrs Fox… though I must admit, for a second I wondered if this forum had taken a wild plot. You’re absolutely right, tone and body language are hard to read online. And as someone who’s still warming up to the pace of this forum, I’m learning as I go. But I truly enjoy being part of a space where people can laugh, share, and connect, even with a little sass now and then.

That said… you two teased me so much I feel like I’ve been slow-cooked and served with a side of mashed potatoes!
But hey, if being “tenderized” is part of the friendship initiation, I’ll take it!

Thank you again for your kind words and for making this space fun. I’m glad to be here, and yes, very relieved Mrs Fox is still safe (for now)!

Doesn’t me joking with him reflect that friendliness?

Hello @Pimmy If I haven’t mentioned it before, have a look at Radio Taiso on YouTube
These are the organised exercise routines that were first introduced in Japan during the 1920s and have continued with various minor changes right up to today

Hello Zuludog

Radio Taiso? Oh wow, I just looked it up and now I’m wondering where it’s been all my life! It’s like the exercise version of brushing your teeth ,short, simple, and suddenly I feel guilty for not doing it every day.

Thank you for the tip! I think this might finally be the routine that gets me moving without needing a motivational speech or three cups of coffee first.

Appreciate you sharing it, my body (and my lazy bones) thank you in advance!

@Pimmy – don’t apologise, don’t look back, don’t say ‘if only…’ – that way lies craziness and self pity

Dredge up some old hippy zen – today is the first day of the rest of your life, and all the rest of it.
Brighter, keener, a new diet? regular exercise, and perhaps new friends

Ask around and there may well be local sessions for Radio Taiso or Tai Chi or Qi Gong or something
Often in a park, and free

'the exercise version of brushing your teeth ’ — Yes, I’ll try to remember that. Thank you!

Poor Mrs Fox !
Her ears must be burning terribly.
Might I suggest that Mrs Fox should immediately become an honorary TL3?

Hurrah!!!
