Sometimes it’s hard judge how people will react to a comment because we are not face to face with them and can’t see their body language. Over the years, writing on forums, you can learn a lot about people from the way they write and the things they write, and you can build up a picture of the person. Some are delicate and get emotional or offended, and others enjoy the banter and humour. I would never intentionally offend or upset anyone on the forum, so I will respond differently when replying to posts depending who I am replying to.
I consider all members of the forum friends, but there are those who I would probably enjoy as friends in real life, and @StraightUp would be one of them…So for the time being, Mrs Fox is safe…

Thank you so much for explaining really, I appreciate it. It’s good to know I didn’t accidentally start World War III on the forum!
I understand now that it was all in good fun between you and @StraightUp, your kind of humour just has a sharper edge (like a cheeky ninja with a keyboard).
And no, don’t worry, I didn’t think that was the real Mrs Fox… though I must admit, for a second I wondered if this forum had taken a wild plot. You’re absolutely right, tone and body language are hard to read online. And as someone who’s still warming up to the pace of this forum, I’m learning as I go. But I truly enjoy being part of a space where people can laugh, share, and connect, even with a little sass now and then.

That said… you two teased me so much I feel like I’ve been slow-cooked and served with a side of mashed potatoes!
But hey, if being “tenderized” is part of the friendship initiation, I’ll take it!

These are the organised exercise routines that were first introduced in Japan during the 1920s and have continued with various minor changes right up to today

Radio Taiso? Oh wow, I just looked it up and now I’m wondering where it’s been all my life! It’s like the exercise version of brushing your teeth ,short, simple, and suddenly I feel guilty for not doing it every day.

Thank you for the tip! I think this might finally be the routine that gets me moving without needing a motivational speech or three cups of coffee first.

Dredge up some old hippy zen – today is the first day of the rest of your life, and all the rest of it.
Brighter, keener, a new diet? regular exercise, and perhaps new friends

Ask around and there may well be local sessions for Radio Taiso or Tai Chi or Qi Gong or something
Often in a park, and free

I dug out this flowerbed to the depth of around a foot. filled the trench with a few bags of compost…

Then sieved the earth that came out of it and used it to fill the trench level…

Had to trundle the trolley up and down the garden many times to get to this stage. I reckon this is at least a temporary work-out that might make a marginal difference to my expanding waistline. :slight_smile: Mrs mart and the neighbours try to moderate me but to no avail.

@zuludog Thank you so much for your kind and wise words. Sometimes we all need that little reminder to stop carrying the weight of “if only” and just begin again, right here, right now.

I really like the idea of looking at today as a fresh start. There’s something gentle and hopeful about that. A bit more light, a bit more movement, maybe even a few new friendships along the way, I’ll take all of that, gladly.

I’m definitely going to explore the idea of joining a local Tai Chi or Qi Gong session. I think being outdoors and moving with others sounds like exactly what my body and mind need.

@mart That definitely sounds like a workout to me, trolley laps and soil-sieving? You’ve earned extra gardening points and maybe a slightly smaller waistline!

I can just imagine Mrs Mart and the neighbours shaking their heads while you power through like a gardening hero. But honestly, when the garden calls, what choice do we have?

Can’t wait to see what grows from all that effort!

Joining a group or session will give you some company and encouragement, but in the meantime here’s something nice to look at
Don’t be overwhelmed, if you look carefully you’ll see that none of the forms are too difficult, I find that the hardest part is remembering the sequence

Apart from where she bends of course; but remember that she’s an expert, and one of the points of Tai chi is that you just do what you can manage – and enjoy it!

Not tired at all, your suggestions are always welcome!
I gave the video a try, and I actually enjoyed it more than I expected. Simple, calming, and just enough to feel like I’m moving with purpose. I’m definitely will be adding this to my routine.Thanks again for pointing me in a lovely direction.
