I can’t understand what the government fears from the proposed law. It seemed to be about openness from the police in order to avoid the blame game they embarked on after Hillsborough. But then again this government seems set on exiting the UK from the European Court of Human Rights. And I recall that the Hillsborough families had to resort to the ECHR in order to address the police cover up of that disaster. Coincidence?
