Hi I'm from Oregon, USA

I’m an author and an artist. Once upon a time I was in training to be a counselor, but tragedy took the life out of that goal. I live in a rural, mountainous setting. My husband and I gave up our jobs, took a risk and moved to the boonies to write full time. Now I write books and paint my own cover art, and he is doing a study on wild turkeys. We have deer and wild turkeys that eat out of our hands. Many of these wild critters consider our place their sanctuary. It’s just so cool.

As Joseph Campbell the myth guy says, we followed our bliss. We didn’t even starve. Cool. Huh?

Glad to be here.

Welcome Sage, I am sure you will enjoy this forum…

Blue

That’s VERY cool. A writer and a painter.
What type of books to you write and what type of medium do you paint with?
Wild turkeys are certainly fascinating birds. We have a lot of them around our area as well as deer. It sounds like a blissful lifestyle.
Welcome to the forum

Thanks, Wild Blueberry and Bratti.
I paint with acrylic on canvas, and I write literary fiction. I have also written a couple of narrative nonfiction books. Yes, it is a peaceful place to be, away from the disruptions of the city.

My avatar is from one of my paintings.

Welcome Sage, you sound an interesting chap

Hello Sage, and welcome.

Oregon sounds lovely, years ago I used to play online backgammon with a bloke who lived there he told me all about it, it’s been on my wish list to visit ever since.

No wild Turkeys in the UK unfortunately…they sound interesting

Hi Sage :039:
Happy posting

Hi Sage…Welcome to this fine Forum…

Regards, Malc.

Thank you all for your lovely welcomes. They are heartwarming. I’m not sure if I’m wise, but it’s a goal. As for eating the turkeys and deer…not a chance. They are friends. We hand feed them. One of the things we have learned during my husband’s wild turkey study is that they are sentient. It’s amazing who they are as individuals. So are the deer.

Welcome to the forum, Sage…

And there was me thinking I could get some Venison.:lol::lol:
