Hi from Carriacou.

Hi, there I’m Sally, Living in the West Indies and have 4 rescue dogs, who walk the beach with me and 2 cats. Jinger has been with me for 8 years and started off sailing. Was really funny to come ashore and see how he dealt with the crawly things - absolutely terrified. Definately not a mouser.
Have just found this introduction place, so wishing you all a wonderful weekend and look forward to hearing from people.

Hello and welcome!

Hello Sally, . .welcome to the OFFers club, it’s always nice to see a new member.

Welcome aboard Sally, enjoy our wonderful forum.

Hi Sally, welcome to the forum.

Hey Cassie, Thanks for the welcome. Yes I was actually in Grenada for Ivan in 2004, which was horrific, moved up to Carriacou for work reasons, 3 months after Ivan, as I was helping in Grenada. Moved ashore and 5 months later got hit by Emily. The house I was living in lost the roof, and the next door neighbour came over at about 5 am to find me in my sailing foul weather gear, sweeping out the water. People here were wonderful. Jinger, my cat, had the right idea, in the corner of a kitchen cupboard. Should have joined him.

Thanks for the welcome. Sometimes do get a little lonely here, as I am on my own and the island is only 6 x 3 miles, 18 sq miles. We do get tourists, but during hurricane season, obviously not too many. Unfortunately, this year has been predicted as being a BIG one. Oh well, the joys of living in Paradise.

Dear Azz, thanks for the welcome. I actually sailed here from South Africa, 8 years ago, with a lady crewmember. Most of my life has been on the sea, but just over the 50’s mark found that it was getting more difficult to haul all the jerry cans for water and diesel, so gave the boat back to the ex boyfriend and came ashore. Of course, silly me, went and bought another boat a year ago, but this one is just for poddling in the islands. Will post some photos soon. Sal

Sal you have a life i’d love… Any idea if there’s any radio hams on the island? (other half is asking and i’d like to know if you’ve any birds of prey there?
x
