Hi everyone. I'm new and looking for new friends! :)

Hi Everyone.

Over the last few days, I’ve been reading a few posts here. Seems like a nice place to spend some time, so I thought I’d sign up.

For the last twenty-one years, I’ve worked in various areas of software development; mainly in engineering and programming. Before this, I spent about 18 years as a commercial artist (finished art, signwriter, artist/illustrator (airbrush)).

I currently work as a games developer. I create and develop Android apps and games using Java/LibGDX/AndroidStudio.

I’ve recently created an artwork page at DeviantArt. Check it out here (Please note that there is a nude painting there, but it is an airbrush painting on a car bonnet - not a porn photograph! ):

[sorry no link dropping allowed]

I am now combining my art and science to produce video games. My latest game is called Starholes. Check it out here:

Over the coming years I will be developing the software for my games as well as creating many more artworks.

Working as an independent developer can get very lonesome sometimes. So I look forward to meeting many of you during some of my time out. I have a good sense of humour, and I also enjoy the occasional robust debate.

All the best,

David

Hello David, welcome to Over50sForum…

Please note we do not allow link dropping.

Thank you

Morning David and welcome to the forum.

There are few on here who know a lot about IT and at least two I know of who were in advertising, print, artwork etc.

Oops! Sorry about that. I assume you’re talking about spam. Sorry, it was meant to be information about me. Never mind - it won’t happen again!

Are we allowed to include links for information purposes?

Thank you for your welcome, Longdogs! I look forward to bumping into you every now and again.

Hello David  we do not allow user related links, this is classed as spamming.

Thank you.

I don’t really know the rules here very thoroughly, but I would guess the answer to that question depends on whether you are looking for friends or customers, UKGC.

Hi UKGameCoder

Welcome. I managed to find your Art website but I’m not certain which one is your portfolio :frowning:

Enjoy OFF

Update: Found it after looking at your profile.
Love your work

Got it! No problem, Mags. Thanks.

Thank you, Minx! Have seen you around a couple of times already. I’m sure we’ll become good mates! Thank you for your welcome!

Friends, Harbal, which I hope we two will become! And I promise that I’ll never to try to sell you anything!

However, please feel free to give me your objective opinions on any of my work! Cheers, mate!

That will probably depend on how tolerant you are. :001:

Which will depend on what it is that I’ll have to tolerate!

I don’t yet know you well enough to be able to work out what will most effectively stretch your tolerance, so we are both on a learning curve.

LOL! Sounds like an interesting challenge! I wish you all the best with it!

By the way, would you be interested in purchasing a red hot poker - you might need it!

Have you forgotten your promise already?

If there’s one thing I just cannot tolerate, it’s someone who can’t pick up on irony! LOL!

Okay, congrats, you’ve won! What’s the next challenge?

Seriously though, no, mate, I didn’t forget!

I feel I have already taken up too much of your time, and I certainly don’t want your debut to become all about me. See you around. :039:
